justinnici
Looks to me like middle won 3 and east won 2 or does the east take credit for middle tennessee now
misssports
Is that what is meant by the mysterious "multiplier"? If so that means its in the West too and there goes my theory.

If thats the case we need a superintendent with a football background. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

The state playoffs are divided into east and west. Look at a map and cut Tennessee in half from top to bottom. That is roughly your east and west divider. Logistically you are right. Raynok
It seems like every year, in the smaller classes especially, the top 2-3 teams in the state are facing off on one side of the bracket. Only to meet the 4th or 5th best team in the finals. Why can't the west be competitive? Here's Slims UNOFFICIAL top 5 rankings for 2008, with West Teams in bold. Class 1A 1. TC 2. SP 3. Oneida 4. JB 5. FCS Class 2A 1. Alcoa 2. CAK 3. Marion 4. Boyd Buchanon 5. Milan Class 3A 1. KC 2. Austin-East (pre-suspension) 3. White House 4. Anderson County 5. David Lipscum Class 4A 1. Hillsboro 2. Maryville 3. Henry County 4. Melrose 5. Maplewood Class 5A 1. Oakland 2. Franklin 3. Brentwood 4. Smyrna 5. Wilson Central Can anybody dispute those rankings? Yes I can dispute them because regardless of what you feel you still have to go by facts and the facts are 1A TC #1 JB # 2 2A Alcoa #1 Milan #2 and so on and so on. You should not make the assumption that any of the other teams out of the east would have beaten the representive from the west and to do so is the equivilant of using ifs and buts in relationship to a teams loss trying to prove that you should have won when the fact is you lost. Well, its hard to argue this point without speculation.
flyingblind
1. Alcoa 2. Marion 3. Boyd Buch. 4. Milan 5. Loudon No respect for the Redskins. How can CAK break the top 5 when they were handled by Loudon. Plus when Alcoa beat Loudon in the 3rd round it was closer than the score allowed. Congrats to Alcoa, another dominating year. I'm pretty sure when this post was started, the poster was assuming Tennessee's three grand divisions, not east and west brackets in the playoffs. tcaee
imo the problem with west tennessee football is definitely the number of schools and the issue of zoning... carrol county has alot of football talent but when you take that talent and break it into 3 or 4 different schools it definitely hurts, the same goes for madison county. alot of the teams from the east are in counties with 1 or 2 different schools so the amount of talent is of course higher. some places like henry county pull in all the area talent bc they are the only school... if some of the other west tn counties only had 1 or 2 schools the football teams would be ALOT better

tcaee
while that may be true you cant deny the fact that if milan was one of the only schools in the county they certainly couldve better competed with alcoa
