Just looked at Hunter's Lane web site. Mereno has a pretty impressive background. He is strenth coach and defensive coach..was asst. coach at TSU. Clay is relatively young..not much info on him.

 

Coach Clay is a former Vanderbilt player. He is also the wrestling coach at HL. Together, they helped to put together one of the stingiest defenses in the state. Congrats to Moreno, and if Clay follows, good luck as well.

Moreno is a great coach and a really good person. He is the reason Campbell has had success at Hunters Lane. Curious why Lockridge ran with this story without getting a response from Moreno. Doesn't seem very professional.

Very good point. Maybe it is what he was asked to do. Why would the principal not inform Moreno of the decision if that was true.

I read in an earlier version of this article that he wants to bring former Vandy player and fellow assistant Matt Clay. Is this confirmed?

Congratulations to Dennis Moreno on becoming the Burros next HC. I worked with Moreno when he was the DC for the Beech Buccaneers from 1997 -1999 seasons. I think he will be a good fit for the Burros. Good Luck D!

Congratulations Hillsboro!!!! You guys just got a great coach. His work ethic and knowledge, along with his patience in teaching his system, will give the Burros a real shot at another title under its third regime. Coach Moreno will be consistent in discipline, preparation and vision. If he can build a solid staff around him the Burros may be contending again as early as the 09 season.

I was just getting ready to ask the same thing...

I would think that even tho he has a DC mindset, he'll have a certain philosophy he prefers as far as the offensive side of the ball.

I'm pretty sure Hillsboro will run their offense that Coach Blade ran.
