Before the Irish can think about Anderson County, they have to play the improving CAK Warriors. According to knoxsports, the Irish are to selfish and don't pass enough so their work will be cut out for them on Tuesday.

From what I've seen, they seem to be alot less selfish than the last couple of years. But, you are right, don't look beyond CAK. I think if Catholic can stop Naylor, they will be fine.

Happy to be wrong. Did they tackle Taylor for the Irish to get the call? Was it a stupid foul?

Stupid isn't the word for it. It was probably the most absurd foul I've ever seen. Given the position he was in the ball had virtually no chance of hitting the board, much less going in. That's what you get though when you have a football player in that kind of situation. Aside from that, though, it should've never come down to that. KC gave Stone multiple opportunties to win the game in the end. They just didn't want it, is all I can say. Their play in the last quarter had the smell of a mutt dog's as$. Their play always seems to go down about this time every season. Stone is a very talented team this year, but they're going to have to pull their heads out of their butts if they want to have a chance to win district.

Shouldnt have even been in the position...stone missed several clutch free throws and a lay up down the stretch...great win for the Irish though

Catholic was 2 of 8 from the free throw up until the three that won the game. Thats how to be clutch. That kid knew the game was over as soon as he stepped to the line. Stone seems to be missing "that kid". I wouldn't trust one of our kids to make three free throws with no time on the clock down by two. Congrats to the Irish and good luck against AC. Go get em!!!

HMMMM... maybe that's what's missing at Stone. Maybe those boys need to be believed in. Maybe their coaches need to believe in them, maybe the boys need to believe in themselves. Maybe that's the one little thing those boys need to get them to the top. Come on folks, I would have believed in any one of those boys had they been placed on that line.

I've gotta say...i saw the game and that was one of the greatest finishes i have ever seen in any kind of game. And talk about clutch and pulling through in a huge district game. Broussard stepped to the line and swished all three like he had done it a thousand times. He didnt look nervous at all to me. The play was amazing as well. Williamson to Broussard over two Stone players and getting the shot off and getting fouled. Wow and of course a huge win for the Irish. Congrats to Mr. Clutch and Catholic.

Go Stone!!!

The last time that selfish Irish team played the improving Warriors they won 77 to 40. Must have been a fluke that the Irish had 24 assist that night. As for the Stone game, it was a really good game that went back and forth. Catholic had an opportunity to put the game away as well, but missed 2 layups, a couple of put backs, and multiple freethrows. Both teams played hard it should be a great district tournament. It's a shame the T$$AA is breaking up this league. If you could leave Catholic and Anderson Co. then add a team like Alcoa, it would have been amazing next year. Oh well, good luck to Stone and the rest of the district teams this week.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
