StarRaider
Pie---they have not posted the winner of D-I 189 yet for some reason. Did Mr. Croy win? BL looks like Croy won a decision from the team scores that are posted. I cannot believe they did not update that bracket.

DS2001
Thanks for the kind words from a Father Ryan Fan....I was not expecting this......5 State Champions is over the top even by Irish standards....Kudos to Coach Simpson and his band of Purple grapplers....Coach can just get amazing things out of his guys...Take Tagbo Obi for example...He had never wrestled before this year, and yes he was pinned a lot during the season. But he manages to place and gain valuable points for the team........For over 40 years, through Coaches Drennan, Garmon and Simpson, the expectations for wrestling at Ryan have never changed. This is another proud moment!
cbg
Simpson must have pulled some type of "HOUDINI" act to get a team to win a state championship that only won 3 of 14 matches against Baylor in the state duals two weeks ago. Congratulations to the Irish and their staff.
DS2001
I agree 100% cbg....I thought they were dead in the water after the duals....I think the stars lined up in several areas, not the least of which was that Coach Simpson convincing them that they could put forth a better effort than they did 2 weeks ago. BuckLateral
215----Norcross ( Ryan) pins Mackey (Bay) to put a cap on it. I believe that makes the final something like: Ryan 253 Baylor 235 Wow---did not expect three Baylor losses in a row to end it or that Ryan would take both 171 and 215. Good job by The Purple Team From Nashville. Final team scores per the TSSAA site (looks like ghouse steered us right on the scores going into the finals): 1 253.00 Father Ryan 2 235.00 Baylor 3 229.00 Christian Brothers 4 212.50 McCallie 5 197.00 Montgomery Bell Academy 6 176.50 Brentwood Academy Best Wrestler: Cash Best Match: Hooker vs.Doster

fan6
Last match: 285--Carreathers (BA) pins Severson at 1:37. Congrats to Ryan. If my math is correct, Carreathers (BA) spent all of 3 total minutes on the mat during the tournament (4 matches).
