Faulkner is the real deal especially in Single A. She got overlooked for Ms. Basketball finalist due to the fact people are not aware of whom Madison Academic is. Like I said, Madison will go as Faulkner goes. If Faulkner has a bad game, Madison loses, if she scores 20-25 points, Madison wins!

I have said it before and will say it again..........NEVER, EVER doubt what GC Pioneer says !

Faulker scores 24, Madison wins (see last line from above posted last night)

GC, you are amazing !

I think Faulkner sat most of the 2nd quarter with 2 fouls....Pickett Co needed to really extend the lead during that period and didn't...Faulkner couldn't be stopped after the break...congrats to Madison!!!!

Congrats to Madison on their win today. Good luck the rest of the way.

Pickett Co. girls have nothing to hang their heads about b/c you all wasn't even supposed to be here. You took it to Madison the first half but couldn't put them away. Congrats on a great year. Enjoy the rest of your week and come back stronger next year.

Let me put my two cents in, Pickett would have been #7 in district 14A this year. 7A has the best team in the state but it drops off fast after Clark Range. I know you want agree but its true. 14A is the strongest district top to bottom this year.

Our #5 team in 14A, Union City killed Madison by 23. Our #9 team lost to Madison by 2. Look it up, its true. When Madson beat Bradford in the substate it was one of the biggest upsets this year in girls basketball just as big of an upset as when Pickett beat Jackson County.

........and 13AA is better than 7AA this year as well.

Greenfield fan..Looks like we were right ..And also in saying Madison had the easier bracket..Good job Madison..Neithe rGreenfield or myself haven't said yall weren't a good team..Just that yall have a good bracket..Take advantage of it and go to the finals..Yall wouldn't be there if you weren't a good team..Congrats !Just maybe their district is as strong overall as they seem to think !Now it looks like as far as their district..It was Clarkrange and then everyone else! And the last I looked ..Clarkrange was in a battle !

you are naive if you think anybody is going to beat Clarkrange.....A blowout in the upper cumberland is 15-20 point wins....Pickett Co and Jackson Co would have been in the top 4 over here too....yes there were about 7 good teams in 14A, but none that are great!!!!

    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
