Why would you have this game during the state tournament? Do the teams that will play Saturday not have players that would be on this all-star roster? I can't imagine any coach of a team still playing on saturday allowing a player to play in this so called all-star game. Am I missing something? Maybe this group thinks that the states best players either have been or will be put out of the state tournament.

Maybe this group thinks that the states best players either have been or will be put out of the state tournament. BM, two or three reasons might bethen. 1) A lot of coaches in town and BCA might be trying to get membership. 2) A a lot of players likely will still be in town to play. 3) Something tells me AAU is involved in this for College coaches will still be in town also for players not signed. 4) Likely since so many signed out of Memphis, a comparison of players could be seen. A time has not been given for the event so it could be after the last ST game. So, all players might be able to show up for the event. I would say Rick Insell would be involved in it. Good chance MTC would get some publicity for the event. Really wonder how many good players will show risking injury. Big Mexican, play it cool. She is one of the best. Indian
Probably because it's a central location with a lot of basketball coaches attending the state tournament able to attend it. Please don't knock any that make their list, it's all subjective, same for any all-star team.

PHargis
To say there will not be 20-30 players that would be good enought to play would be misleading. If anyone gets the list, please post it. After allthere were somany upsets thru the state, it would not be hard to gett a number of great players. In fact, in a half dozen counties, thee's that many. Indian
He wrote it will be put on here later. You could find plenty of good players from teams not making the state tournament, my guess is that's what they've done instead of waiting to see who will still be playing. If you asked 100 different people their teams there would be 100 different groups.
judgesmales
The Basketball Coaches Association is putting on this event. Several states have their all-star games on the day of the state championships so this is not unusual. Kentucky for example, does the same thing. The coaches association is made up of about 300-400 high scholl and middle school coaches from across the state. They have zero to do with AAU and although Rick Insell is a member and has spoken at their clinic the last 2 years, he has nothing to do with this event. Also we need to remember that there are only 2 teams still playing in each class which leaves about 350 schools and their players idle. The players will also be in good shape after just finishing the season. I bet there will be some quality ploayers involved.

13sports
The Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee is only interested in promoting high school basketball in the state of Tennessee. Just for the high school players. I think playing the game on the day of the state championship is a great idea. As said before, players still in shape, people already in Murfreesboro to see games, etc. The lineup looks great but could be debated for months. I for one will go by to see this game before attending the state championship games on Saturday.
TrafficHavoc
Looks like it would make more sense to have the championship game around noon, then have the All-Star game around 5. That was everyone could take a break then head over to the all-star game. It seems like a stupid idea to do it "before" the championship games.
