Whitwell's Next Head Coach

Tim Taylor resigned Monday as head coach of the Whitwell Tigers. He informed the team of his decision on Tuesday citing personal reasons. For the Seniors this will be head coach number four for them ( Condra, Montgomery, Taylor and now ?). The TSSAA website has the job posted and says that teaching positions to be determined. Any ideas on who might be the next head coach?

Old Pirate says nothing ever changes in Tiger land except coaches. Sad that program and fans can not get things going. As for who..........someone who has high hopes or wears rose colored glasses or... just desperate...then again maybe a miracle working.

How about getting Sam Montgomery back. I heard that he was not happy up there on the mountain and would love to come back to Whitwell.

Sam shouldn't be happy. He was badmouthed and blackballed by some up here when all he tried to do was work hard and coach the kids. Sam is a great guy and Whitwell would be lucky to have him back.

Man DelTavian, things sound nasty up on your mountain. Sorry to hear all the bad stuff. Good luck finding a coach. From what a hear about the three inside coaches is that they all have great love for the county and would be great for the system. Applications are being accepted now and I believe interviews are being set up for the coming weeks. I have heard that 15 have applied already but that number may be incorrect. With it only bring put on TSSAA yesterday is promising. Good luck Tigers on your search for the next ball coach.

I have talked with them both and neither of them want it. Barton is heading up the Golf team next fall and is taking a break from football and focusing on Golf and Baseball. Thacker is just fine being an assistant and is busy with heading up the Boys Basketaball team. Brady who was the other assitant from last year is the interim head coach right now and has applied for the permanent head coaching job. Good Luck to him. I think he would be a great fit for the program.

thats the rumor up there, said he wasnt happy with the baseball program, i heard he has already had a few heated run ins with some of the parents, and the alumni isnt happy with him at all.... but like i said , so far that a rumor, but 5 months ago the rumor was taylor was leaving, and now he is gone.
