District 11A! New Champion this season?

CA over Santa Fe 8+

It's still early in the district race but this is a must win game for both teams in my opinion if they have any hopes of being one of the top teams in the district. CA has to protect their home court after getting beat on the road at MTP. SF just needs a win after 5 defeats and really can't afford to get much more behind in the district standings although not all 5 defeats were district games. SF has already been defeated by MTP and Richland in district play so losing to CA will not help the cause. This will be a battle. There is a lot of history between these two schools... neither is crazy about the other. It will be a close game for the most part but CA pulls away late.

 

Hampshire over Cornersville 10+

Hampshire won some games over the holiday break and learned a lot while doing it. I think they are playing much better now than they were earlier in the year. Cornersville just has no answers after players quiting the team. Cornersville hangs around for a while but not long enough.

 

Richland over MTP 5+

Can MTP stay undefeated in the district or will Richland be the first to put a district loss on them. I think this game goes back and fourth. Both teams seem to play a lot of players. Maybe 10 deep on each team. I got to go with Richland on this one just because it is at Richland and I'm not sure how familiar these Tigers are with the gym. Richland fans can get pretty rowdy at times also. MTP may pull off the win. It will be a close game but who ever takes care of the basketball and knocks down free throws wins this one.

 

Culleoka over Decatur, Ala Christian 6+

 

SF over CA 5+

If SF can get ahead early in the gm and knock down their free throws throughout the gm they should pull out a win on the road. This one's going to come down to who can take care of the ball and rebounding for 2nd chance points. Should be a great gm, always a great crowd for both sides there.

 

Hampshire over cornersville 15+

 

Richland over MTP 2+

Home court advantage goes to richland and another gm that could be decided by rebounding and which team can take care of the ball better.

Williams scored 20. Patterson and Richardson Twins played well also. The CA defense stepped up tonight! They kept SF out of rhythm.

 

SF was exposed tonight as their fans begin hitting the exit about 3 or 4 minutes left in the 4th. I'm sure SF fans have many excuses. SF didn't hit free throws and couldn't score much from the outside. Guards didn't play well and turned the ball over too much. Let's hear it SF? Was it the refs or what? 6 in row... like cullypride said... your beginning to slide... no no... your sliding big time!

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.

      I heard Alabama was at Antioch practice and Colorado has offered QB. Hoping the Bears have a great year.
