Well, somebody has to get it going. In 2006,I really thought that it might be Souths year, not to be.I don't know if you can find anyone outside of the Tribe camp, that wouldn't say that for this year.South has a great team and it would be hard to find many that don't wish them well in the playoffs. This is the one game that I have to pull against them however. Two weeks is a long time and the only prediction I'll make is ''5000"PLUS.That's the amount of views this game will get on coach T and the amount of people that will be at the game.Roll Tribe

Sullivan South is excited to welcome our city neighbors to Carl Matherly Stadium for the big game. To accommodate our guests we will reserve all premium seating on the visitors side for the Dobyns-Bennett band parents. Fans and parents of the football team will be asked to sit from the 39 yard-line to the end zone on the side of the stadium next to our new field house...er...I mean outhouse.

South all the way i think it wont even be close DB 14 SOUTH 38

Dangerous game for South. I think they might come in a little to confident and will have to wait another year to end the streak. DB 21-17 Our defense will cause a couple turnovers and that will decide the game. Sorry southers , but we're not going to lose every game this year especially this one.Roll Tribe Roll.............

South looks like their moving the ball pretty darn well right now, sure it takes away a great weapon by moving your players around, but South has adjusted well for the time being. They will need to get him back for the playoffs, because of the beast down in Knoxville.I don't think it would matter if we had the Bear coaching our team in the last two games,he probably would have been ejected for smoking on the field.Roll Tribe

Sorry...91 I don't think South will come in over confident. We take it one game at a time..and I can assure you that Stacy will have our boy's more than ready..we know DB is way better than the 1-4 record indicates..so if you think we will be taking DB for granted you're wrong. With that being said South will end the streak...I believe South will play their best game of the year!!!! Roll Rebels Roll!!!!!

Tough game for South with QB out, but with Clark coaching and calling the plays for DB, it will be about even.

Heath Haden is just as good as St.Claire...if not better so don't think we are hurting at qb...but I did hear that the Saint might just be ready for the DB game..so if he is that just makes us that more dangerous....we just don't have one star own our team....it seems like it's someone new every friday night. Roll Rebel Nation!!!

Looks like another trip to the woodshed for the mighty D-B. Then we will get to read for a week about how south is not a good team but got lucky and how the refs helped them.

South will run all over DB this year.Last year it would have been a good game.

People in Kingsport are tired of the excuses now.We are starting to hear it up

here in Bristol. No, things in Mayberry are not all well, right now.Go Rebels.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
