It's simple Spear...we haven't played a complete game yet...except the three quarters we played at Knox West. You would just have to be there to understand. and I don't wish that on anyone. Not trying to create sympathy. Contrary, we want to come back. But there's a part of us that says, "It's not right to go on without him." Common sense tell us that he would cheer us on to greatness. Aahhh, but we are human. We are weak. We feel remorse for our circumstances. At some point it becomes motivation...and rightfully so. but not just yet. For you? Maybe, we will see. It just does not go away like that. We must turn inside to see our worth. And that is a one by one event. With the likes of Aaron, Ty, and Dillion suffering the most. What we bring Oct 2nd will be evident in the first 5 seconds we walk on the field. Either we will be back...or it will be another day.

Interesting insights, Comp. The concept of a "complete game" will be a challenge. How do teams respond to such events? I have no personal experience. But I am sure Coach Carter, his staff, and the players will continue to respond with great character.

The above is correct. The D backfield is lacking and is barely conference ready and is certainly not playoff ready. The personnel decisions are baffling, but I guess that's why I'm not a coach.

 

They have 2 weeks to work on closing speed, wrap up tackling and maybe trying some new players back there. In one of my first posts here, I said a stong, smart quarterback with quick receivers will pick South apart. Not sure they have faced that yet, but they will and maybe really soon.

 

I agree 100%...hilts, if the coaches don't make some changes that will be what gets us beat.Our pass defense is awful..its like they wait to see if the receiver is going to catch the ball before they try to make the play. And we havn't even played a team that can really throw the ball that well yet..but we will..I just hope we are ready.And yes the personnel decisions are baffling.

You can tell me i was wrong if we lose, but mark my word. We have two weeks to prepare for the game and South does to. We will improve more these two weeks than at any other point so far this year. South on the other hand is just going through the motions and not really worried about what is getting ready to happen. DB is going to be playing with a chip on their shoulder and backed up against the wall. It's do or die time. No more losing It's over. And especially not to this bunch. Other than Johnson City this is the team we love to mess with. The running game is going to get it going early and establish the physicallity of the game. And if you think Chris is not going to run somebody over your dreaming. Just wait until he gets his shoulders squared up and your boys step in front, it's going to be unlike anything you've ever seen. The streak will continue DB 21-17. Roll Tribe Roll.............

 

 

Sorry, 91 but you are dead wrong if you think Stacy is letting our boys just go thru the motions...if you could just see one of our practices you would think motions...And I love Chris to death...but if you think he's going to run all over our defense you are off your rocker..he didn't run all over Boone and he sure as heck want run over us...Clint,TY and company will be more than ready for the challenge of Chris running all over them...And please tell your boys to stay out of Clints way when he runs the ball...its like something you've never seen....South will roll..just not sure how many we will score...but I did like Waco's thought on the score!!!!!

If it's so simple, then just answer the question instead of side steppig it like a politician.. I asked if you guys were at least 4 tds better than West, yet Boone took you to the last play, BY WHAT WIDE MARGIN WOULD WEST HAVE BEATEN BOONE.. can't wait for this one, and please just give me some simple numbers, not a chapter from a book please.

Against Boone, South had 7 fumbles losing 2 and 1 int. The other 5 fumbles were drive killers. Also 6 penalties for 53 yards. You could tell the boys were not mentally prepared for the game and I think they somewhat underestimated the blazers. They are a very scrappy bunch that gets after you and good things are going to happen for the blazers. DB is very capable of winning this game and South must be ready to execute and I believe they will. I agree with the other posters we are lacking in the secondary which I am sure coach Clark is well aware of. I think we will see more passing from the Indians than they have done all year long. The Rebs must be ready!! Pressure on Roop will be the key, we have to stay in the backfield. Just my .02.

Well, good to see the trashtalking has started. Unless you have been to all the South games this year, you really don't understand what Comp is talking about. We were absolutely dominate in the West game for 3 quarters and we have not looked like that team since other than 2 or 3 quarters of football since. This is a conference where you will have at least 4 tough games and maybe another one if you aren't careful. You have to be ready to play each week. For whoever it was that said South wouldn't be motivated, are you crazy? 93 was the last time we beat you. You don't think that's motivation? Pass along whatever you're having because it's some good stuff.
