CHAMPDDS
Congrates to the players for their recognition, but I still have trouble with a coach allowing such run ups of scoring to boost player stats..... BigG
Congrats to the two young ladies from Page. Anytime that TN soccer can get national recognition, it is a good thing! I will be interested in seeing how they advance in the post season. Who do they match up with in sectionals?
wiredtowin
Don't know who Page will be playing in post-season but I'm pulling for the opponent unless it is the Al-Qaeda Jihadistas. Seeing the Page scores and then reading the article......unconscionable for a coach/program to humiliate lesser schools in order to "set records". I lost all respect for the Oak Ridge program a few years back when they hammered Halls, 15-0, and their studette posted seven goals to "get a record". CoachMikeLHS
CONGRATS PAGE!!!! If you want to slam coaches about scores, please go over to the other thread. It has about fizzled out, anyway. I know Coach Wade, and he is a very classy guy, if you ask me. And his girls are top knotch, and play with great sportsmanship. We scrimmaged them in the pre-season, and they earned our respect! I can't wait for them to come back next year!
rgossett14
Not gonna take anything away from Page...great team with a bunch of skilled players. Our program was honored that they asked us to schedule a game. Usually don't get that kind of attention from outside our area. I'm actually glad the article was written. Now I can use it as a confidence builder for my girls, now that they're one of the few goals to be scored on a team featured on ESPN. Thanks for trying to make sense of the comment, but if that were the case, I might have understood. Unless Fred. J. Page HS uses another name, they don't play any of these schools. Not on Eurosports list of opponents or on CAK's or ND's list of opponents. BUT, as you know, I am acronym impaired. Sooo, to me it makes as much sense to put records of schools you don't play to make a point as to say " the sky is blue and my feet hurt" ??????? I understand the "stretch" is that the teams they beat are 68-58-16, but why not use their names, not the best of the best???? Sorry, just won't work for me. So let's use schools they do play: Cheatham Co......Scored 11.....Against 50 Huntland............Scored 1.......Against 30 Cane Ridge.........Scored 8.......Against 34 Cornersville........Scored 0.......Against 9 That sort of paints another picture. This was directed to Elmer, who I assume was trying to suggest Page plays a tough schedule. No disrespect intended to the girls scoring or the team. I hope they score a 100, but I hope is in more that 10 games.
