cool guys sounds like greeneville is real deal....hopefully central will play well...their defense is tough but it seems as though their offense has been stuggling

Greeneville has shown a very balanced offense this season with Quarles becoming more confident in his line and a solid receiving corp. Nice to see we have a stable of great young backs, and not rely so heavily on Spradlin for every carry.....but its good to have BJ back. The Devil D.....probably the toughest I've seen in green since '03...(shout out to big Daniel Crosby ). The only weakness I've seen in Greeneville's game the whole season has been kick coverage. They have given up a few big returns. It sure helps that Ogle has been 95% through the end-zone and Hughes has punted with CRAZY hang-time. Can someone give me Hughes averages? Anyway, we are ready to welcome the Pounders to Burley on Friday. Its a great place to play and a great atmosphere for fans.....GO GREEN!!!

Crosby's senior year was 02' graduated in spring of 03'. This years defense is pretty stout. Call it favortism or bias, but I do not believe they are as tough as 07'. More talented? Yes. More disciplined and driven? Ahh...I don't know about that. I hope they prove me wrong. We need to send a message this week, and don't dare get caught looking ahead. Red Bank is tough, but Central comes first. Time to come together and start hitting on all cylinders.

We played Central and when I was at that game, Red Bank had a hard time scoring on them in the first half...it was 0-0 during the RB-Central game. Second half, though, we ran them over again and again. Either we toughened up, or they got tired. If the latter is so, then Central is a team that gets tired somewhat quickly. But they do play hard football...for a little bit.

Greeneville should probably have little trouble with Central, because most of Central's wins have come against mostly low-caliber teams. You never know, though.

Also, on a side note, Central has a somewhat big mouth too. The day of the RB-Central game, I heard they put "Go pounders; Pounders 47, Red Bank 7" on their front-of-school marquee. We won 35-0.

Keon didnt play the first half,When he came in he ran all over Central

Charlie the '07 d was a blue collar bunch of guys, but this years d, wow. If they had the drive from the '07 d they'd be real trouble. But I think this D is faster and stronger, especially the front 4. Not taking anything away from you guys though.

You are right barb this year team is faster, bigger, stronger than the 07' defense. Heck our biggest guy was Stewart at 207 lbs. Even with that I still don't believe that they are better overall as a unit. What we lacked in size we made up for it with work ethic and heart. This years team is averaging giving up 15.3 points a game through the regular season while the 07' D averaged giving up 12.4 points a game against tougher teams ( I know they can't help the conference they play in). We had the bend but not break attitude about us and were always fired up no matter who made the play. I would like to see this years team have that spunk about them. With that being said i'm not trying to down this years Greeneville team because everyone knows i want them to do well and win state.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
