WHAT A JOKE! TSSAA BLOWS IT!

A team below .500 is not going to win state anyway, there is no reason for them to even be in the playoffs. Each region shouldnt HAVE to send a wildcard team, they should have to give it to another region who has a better team that deserves to get in. I.E - Shelbyville should give it Siegal.

Because Shelbyville is 5A while Siegal is 6A. It had nothing to do with region but had to do with classification. Hopefully this will be fixed before next year and everyone is not waiting until the 30th hour to find out who they are playing and if they get in.

One new thing said on the radio by Childress is to have a district games played by week 9 of football season and have week 10 be a game to play someone out of your district. This would set the district standings and everyone would know where they stand that way but then you have to go back to how it affects the wildcard teams and the teams that would be playing the wildcards.

It was time for reclassification. New Regions needed to be established due to the population growth and decline of some schools and the establishment of new ones.

I do not like the "wildcard" idea. Let the teams play and decide who goes to the playoffs by the outcome of the head to head match ups.

The thing is, when this idea was presented to the Football Coaches 3-4 yars ago 90% of them shot the idea down. Why didn't the TSSAA listen to the coaches? It is their sport and they wanted to know what the coaches felt about the idea, so why implement it when 90% of the coaches DID NOT WANT IT!

If they want coach feedback, they should listen to the opinions shared. Its not lnly in football but other sports as well.

I agree with the idea that maybe those guys who are elected to represent the wishes of the coaches in a distrtict need to be replaced for failing to represent those who elected them.

Article in Nashville Tennessean on Sunday about the mistakes in the new TSSAA Playoff System.

Childress is quoted...he seems to know there is a problem

True of Summertown, a board member who voted on this crap is quoted..he seems to know we have a problem...True wants to poll each member school on this new plan...good idea. His vote on the new plan was not told in the article.

Mathis of Tullahoma, a board member who voted on this crap is quoted...he seems to not have a clue...it says he voted for the new playoff system...at least we know where one vote came from.

Looks like another vote came out of East Tennessee by the article in the Nashville Tennessean Wednesday morning. :popcorneater:

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
    • It seems we lost a ton to graduation. We shall see how it shapes up for 2024.
