I have nothing against White Co. -but- 1-9 playoff team??

Did I see the brackets correctly? I have nothing against Glencliff either, but 5-5 gets you a home 1st round game? And 1-9 gets you in at all? Ever?

Simple math

 

1A and 2A -24 of 41 make it - 59%

 

3A and 4A - 32 of 53 make it - 60%

 

5A - 32 of 59 make it - 54%

 

6A - 32 of 55 make it - 58%

 

when more than half make it, some losing records and .500 records have to make it.

And the bigger amount of teams you include the more $$$$ the T$$AA rakes in. No wonder why other states laugh at Tn football, until they actually have to play one!

In the VHSL, there was one incident where a team with a 9-1 record didn't make the playoffs while a team with a 1-9 record made the playoffs.

T$$AA should put themselves on probation for letting something like that happen!

Again, I have nothing personal against White Co., but the day any team gets in with a 1-9 mark, is the day something has gone terrible wrong. People need to contact the TSSAA and voice the concern.

Campbell County is out of the playoffs with a 3-7 record and they beat White County in week 2 or 3 of the season. I know it is two different districts, but it's still hard to figure.

I looked up White Co. schedule. They had a nine game losing skid heading into the final week and had given up between 33 and 50 points in those losses. I don't want this to sound like have something personal against White County, because I don't. As a matter of fact, I don't know very much about the school or county itself at all.

 

But I know there is something wrong with a 1-9 team (any 1-9 team) making the playoffs.

If Im not mistaken White Co was 0-9 heading into the game against Cumberland Co who was 1-8. This was the battle for the automatic bid. Either way a 1-9 or a 2-8 was getting in. This system is laughable.
