Gordonsville vs MTCS

Smith has also emerged as a great runner. Woodmore has been keyed on some allowing Smith and Cason to be successful. Woodmore ran harder the other night than he had all year. If he'd run like that from now on, he'll be hard to handle.

Id use Woodmore only in short yardage and goal line....all other plays...he's blocking. G-ville should be able to play this game conservatively. No need to come out and throw the ball 15 times. Just run 3 yds and a cloud of dust all night. If i were play calling for the Tigers...id have Cason and Smith carry it about 15 times apiece and Woodmore with 10-12 carries. Cason and Smith have that "get down the field" speed...Woodmore is only gonna get 25-30 on a breakaway. I would only throw on 1st down....play action. And i would only throw the ball 4-6 times. No short stuff. Big play passes.

I was looking at my Murphy Fair and it sounds like Murphy thinks that Gordonsville will be real good in this game. That durn Middle Tennessee coach did not turn in his survey and we do not have it in my book. Let me ask you Gordonsville people a question. Do you think your team will beat Middle Tennessee this week. If they win and my team wins then they will play next week. Let me ask you another question. Do you think this Gordonsville team will be able to hold SP to under 28 points next week. Gordonsville will beat those Middle Tennessee boys. Any team that does not send in the survey are not good enough to play and I hope they lose. I am still mad about that coach not turning in his survey. Are your boys lifting alot of weights this week so they will be strong on Friday? Why do you call your coach a Moose? I have never heard of anyone being named a Moose. I have heard of Donkey or Rabbit but never a moose. I have been called a horse in my past but just never heard anyone but your coach that was called a Moose. Why do you call him that? Is that his real name?

Roy: I ran across the letter that Coach sent Murphy Fair regarding the survey. Here is what it said,

"Mr. Fair, I am writing you this letter concerning your survey. I have heard that you are a slow reader so I am trying to write as slowly as possible. I was going to put the survey in with this letter but accidently sealed the envelope before including the survey. Hopefully I will remember next year. Best regards, Coach"

Actually the coach at MTCS was still trying to figure out why he got a bye with a freaking losing record at 4-6.............

I like MTC's chances in this one.

They are well coached, have a solid run game, and a young Qb who shows improvement each week. The keys to victory will be:

1.) No turnovers!

2.) Force turnovers in the kicking game.

3.). Keep it Simple! 3 yards and a cloud of dust will win if you do 1 and 2.

Good luck, Coffee from a fellow District 9 opponent. :ugeek:

BigDaddy -- that one is easy and well-settled. Both teams were the top 1A playoff team in their respective districts. However, MTCS finished 3rd in their district and Gordonsville finished 4th. You may or may not agree with the process or the results but that was the reason.

Have a safe trip to the 'boro on Friday.

Thanks C11. Hope the Champions fare well against the boys from Signal Mountain.

This post could be used for either team.

What kind of offense and defense does MTCS run? I haven't heard anyone say on here.

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
