I'm not positive, but I know he has some good decorations football wise, played college ball and may some Pro-leagues as well. I do know that since his oldest boy entered Middle School he's settled down and has been involved with the Southwind Titans and Jaguars program. VERY successful coaching tenure there. He wasn't able to coach the 9th grade team this year due to not receiving his papers from the Board, but I noticed how he was able to motivate an other wise dead Varsity team during the season. He also has helped groomed some big time talent in the city guys like Julian Burton, Chase Hailstock(White Station, James Harmon(Sophmore DB at Fairley, I believe he leads the city in INTS), Denzel Robinson(Cordova High, sophmore), and alot more. I guarantee you this, any team that has him as a coach will be a disciplined, fit, and hard-hitting squad.

Come on JodyJoe! You must be the coach friend that you are recomending! Coaching little league doesn't make you a guru! Everyone knows in little league, whoever has the most talent wins! You mentioned Harmon and Burton in your thread. It is true that they are both doing good at the high school level, but you must admit they are also blessed with talent!! The Southwind Middle school coaches hated on Cedric Miller the whole year with all that back door play! Maybe he needs to get a head coaching job at the high school level so he can see what it is really like to coach with pressure!!! :hungry:

Well, I personally wanted to thank Coach Hawkins for everything he's done for the millington program and me.... I've played for him, I had his class, he encouraged me to go to Memphis, and this past season he gave me my first coaching position.... Now I have no comments on who should get the job but whoever it is has to realize that not only will you be a head coach you will be the spokesperson for the community...... In Millington the head coach is the most important figure in this community besides the Mayor!!!!!!

Like I said I've only been in the area for a short little minute and so has he. Not to get off subject are you talking about that debacle that happened on the commercialappeal Message board after the Lake Coromant game when you say "Back Door play", regardless, there are plenty of names that could be given considerated in the area. Even though its so trendy to say we don't, Memphis has plenty of good coaches.

P.S. Burton and Harmon were blessed with talent, but theres a reason they keep in contact with Edwards even at different schools. :hungry:

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
