How is York still in if people are making these comments? Look at the brackett and see. Goodpasture may have been a number one seed but had a defense the a pee wee team could have scored on. How is York still in if people are making these comments? The answer is the west bracket is very, very, weak in 3a this year. 5 of the top 6 3a teams were in the east bracket this year. swingjuice
Milan offense can't afford to play like they did in the first half tonight and expect to win a Gold ball. Milan 53 York 0 first half and then it will end up 60-14 with Milan 2nd and 3rd team in.
wishbone6
surely they will not be the easiest[/quLooks like they were competitive in all their games. Lost 3 district games by a total of 15 points. Can't imagine a final four team would be that easy.

How is York still in if people are making these comments? Look at the brackett and see. Goodpasture may have been a number one seed but had a defense the a pee wee team could have scored on. Let me clarify just one thing. A pee wee team could have passed on Goodpasture's secondary. York knew this and exploited the weakness (translated - good coaching by York). York did not run the ball against Goodpasture. Goodpasture's d-line and linebackers were playing well at the end of the year. Against Grundy Co., the DB responsible for the QB on the option did not take the QB. Adjustments were made a the half and Grundy did not score again (translated - good coaching by Goodpasture). Not many were running the ball between the tackles. I've said all of that to say that Goodpasture's poor secondary play finally cost them (look back at all the Cougar's losses and see similar results). I have to believe that Milan's front 7 on defense is at least as good as Goodpasture's. I must also assume that their secondary play is far superior to Goodpasture's. If York scores, it will be on a trick play.
shotyme10
How did the game go down tonight for York & Smith? Smith was definately the better team tonight, by far. Anybody who was at this game will tell you that. Don't get me wrong, York is a good football team, you have to be good to be one of the last 4 teams left in 3A. SC dominated this game the whole night. SC was up most of the game 14-7. Then York's qb gets rushed and throws one up, SC free safety goes for the pick, York receiver makes a great play and takes it 30-40 yards for a touchdown with about 50 sec. left. York goes for two, trick play, and they get it. That is a hero or zero call, but in this case York's coach was a hero. All that being said, Congratulations to York, good luck next week.
