Time for me to move on......Maryville football is over for the season and we are running out of meaningful topics to discuss. I would like to thank the players and coaches for a wonderful season. I hope these young men have enjoyed it and will have fond memories of these last 15 weeks.

To the Maryville posters....it has been fun chatting with you this season and I look forward to next September.

To all the posters who are supporter of high school sports....It has been a pleasure visiting with you and learning about your programs. I look forward to hearing from you again next year.

To WhiteStation...congratulations! I hope you enjoy your reign as the 6A Champs.

Lastly, Thank you Coach T for this forum.

Ok, after reading through these posts I just want to say to those few classless want to be's (and you know who you are) grow up and get over it. Trolls , lurkers and venom spewers take notice... keep on hating because we feed on it. ( And just in case you have not figured it out yet , for some TEAMS it does not matter what classification they are in ... :thumb: )

Congratulations to Whitestation... couple of fabulous athletes in #4 & #11. Guard that GOLDBALL and keep it polished, you earned it.

MARYVILLE , you have absolutely nothing to hang your heads about. There are a heckuva lot of other teams in the State of TENNESSEE that would trade places with you in a heart beat. You will go back next year for another chance. You have done a fine job boys and we are as proud of you as any that have came before you. Seniors , finish out your year strong in all you do you are all CHAMPIONS!There were many , some of our own who said you would not win 3 games this season... WOW look what you accomplished. Many of the guns are silent now and you guys silenced them. The rest of you REBELS , get you high-n-tights and start working, 2010 has begun. GQ & CO. thanks for all you do for our boys... your time , dedication and concern for the well being of them is something that we parents and fans do not take lightly. Your sacrifices are seen and appreciated more than you know. THANK YOU ALL!

I agree Stars and Bars....It was a great post, I enjoy a good laugh as much as anyone.

Let's analyze it.

As far as "the Guns being silent" they may quiet over in east Knoxville at Central HS where Greyrider went to school back in the 80's. But I still hear them loud & clear..

Whitestation is the real deal Holyfield, this was the "Big Boy" you were waiting for, well you got it.

The Guns are loud and clear over in West TN.. I have been listening to how much better HS football is over in West & Middle TN.... here as of late on the talk shows...

Let's ask Maryville what they think..

Why don't you and I meet up and have a cup of coffee.? We can analyze things then. Or you can just keep hiding out like the coward that you are. I do pity you though , you remind me so much of one of those little dogs that bark from behind the door and I would venture to guess that you have a LITTLE more in common with them than just the bark. :thumb:

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
