Jasmine Newsome broke her previous career high this season of 42 points. She scored 43 points to break the school record for most points scored in a game, making it her second 40 plus point game of the season. Jasmine has signed with the University of Tennessee-Martin. This summer she started this season off by winning her second consecutive AAU National Championship and was named All-American.

From a basketball viewpoint that is truly impressive. Since I don't remember the rest of the things looked at , although at one time they were posted, this would be hard to beat. You do realize that just posting this here is not enough. Read the rules Coach T outlined about notification.

I think a Taylor Hall (Morristown West), Jordyn Luffman (Lawrence County), and Jasmine Newsome (Millington) nominee list would be very adequate. All three are deserving, and do a lot for their respective teams.

 

Had Crouch (Hillsboro) and Jefferson (LaVergne) been healthy, then you could have made the argument for both of them. They are definitely two of the best players in the state.

 

Two non-seniors to consider would have to be Hasina Muhammad (Ridgeway) and Caya Williams (Mt. Juliet)

Lots of talented young ladies in AAA Basketball but Jordyn Luffman from Lawrence County is among the best. She can play every position and just an overall talented young lady.

 

 

Definitely Jordyn. I don't have any exact stats, but she is dominant night in and night out, and brings way more to the table than just scoring. She can play position on the floor well, and is very good on defense. Also, she is no doubt the leader of this team, and possesses many leadership qualities.

That's great stuff to hear. I'm sure she has been a pleasure to watch these past few years! Newsome gives more than just scoring also. Last game she had 32 points 11 assists 8 steals and 5 rebounds in our 80-46 win over District Rival Bolton at their place.
