The weather extended the season for Culleoka, Mt. Pleasant, and Hampshire by one day. All three will see the season come to an end tonight at each satellite site. I see CA beating Culleoka by 25-30, I see Santa Fe beating Mt. Pleasant by about the same. Richland should beat Hampshire by 15-20. Round 2 will set up a great CA/Santa Fe matchup, and Richland will fall to Cornersville handily.

Santa Fe played well last night!!! They have a strong inside game with White and when a team takes that away, they have a even stronger outside game w/ Hemphill, Dodson, and Thompson. I enjoyed watching them play last night. They did all the things that makes a good team great and they could be even greater if they would hit the boards a little bit harder and run the ball more. Doing those things along with the inside/outside game they have, will definitely take them straight to state. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up at Murphy Center in March. They should also do well throughout the Region as long as they keep playing like they are playing. Good Luck Santa Fe!

CA got into early foul trouble and just never could get it together. Good Luck to CA in the Regional tourney. JUST LOVIN' THE GAME!!!

Cornersville wins the district 11A tournament. They beat Santa Fe 51-39.

 

Columbia Academy beats Richland 45-34 for 3rd place.

The Richland/CA game was a tale of two halves. Richland started off hot jumping out to a double digit lead. After halftime it was all CA. They forced turnovers when Richland tried to throw over the press and got steals when they tried to dribble around it. Richland never looked to get into a flow. Richland parents were not too happy with many different people having choice words for the coach.

 

As for the Cornersville/Santa Fe game, Santa Fe came out firing. however, they fizzled late once #15 got hot for Cornersville. It was a pretty good atmosphere between the two student bodies and the adult cheering sections. It was a good finish to a good year in district 11A.
