Turtle
Here's the link http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2010/mar/2 ... -at-grace/ What are your thoughts about this? In my opinion, he went on his faith.. When faith plays a role in your life you make difficult decisions like this but he turned Central into a winning program so he left a good mark.. corbus
I can only wish him well at Grace, he has done a super job at Central. Wish it could have been at his alma mater.
blackhawkdown
Surprised anyone would take the job at this point without knowing TSSAA punishment. Grace coaches feel punishment will be vacating wins for using ineligible player. Rumor ( but does come from TSSAA source) is punishment will be the worse ever handed out by TSSAA. So maybe something in between.
QSouth89
So will Mitch Mitcell be the new coach? Good luck to Matt
LebronJamesistheman
Mitch is a great guy, but I don't think he will take it sue to him trying to get an administrative job soon. Heard a couple of names that would be good for the job, Aaron Green, LeBrandon Marie( sticks), and Tony Scott. Just a thought who knows only time will tell. Good luck to Matt, great person. QSouth89
I'm sure Coach Scott will not apply for the position (he's very happy at Catholic and his daughter will be there in another year), Coach Greene is probably a long shot too. Now Sticks would be a great fit for Central.

classof2002
When you say sticks, are you refering to the assistant coach at Karns High?
Turtle
When you say sticks, are you refering to the assistant coach at Karns High? Yes, that'll be the guy. Coach Sticks has been looking for a coaching job and hasn't land one yet. I think Central would fit him to a T. He turned a lousy baseball program at AE into a program that believes they could win... AE baseball team didn't win a lot of games but the kids were excited about playing for a coach with the demeanor to win. He, Coach Sticks, made the games exciting for the players. He would get my vote if Mitch or Aaron turns it down. I must add... Coach Stick or Stixx is a better basketball coach then baseball but still he taught the AE baseball players well...He's a good coach

He also works well with kids from that area of Knoxville. He relates well to them, and they will for sure listen and play hard for him. Hope it works out for him, he deserves the oppoutunity. Good luck Sticks

It won't be long before he's either a top assistant or running his own program. Someone mentioned earlier that Mitch wasn't interested, but he would be a good fit for the program since he's already there. Mitch has head coaching experience too, at Washburn (way back in the day), Lenoir City, and Carter. Not to take anything away from Sticks, he is truly deserving of a head coaching position. IrishBBall
With hind sight being 20/20. It may be a huge blessing if Sticks were to get this job after being by-passed for the South-Doyle job.
