CC, is it verified that he is coming back to Halls? Part of the reason the Clarksville Academy headmistress didn't renew Coach Shepard's contract was because he and his family have opened a new steak house on Franklin Road in Clarksville, and she apparently didn't think he was giving his full attention to his job at Clarksville Academy, or at least that was what I took from the story in the Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle. Having known Coach Shepard a little bit when he was at Halls, I have a hard time believing that he wasn't giving the job at Clarksville Academy 100%. That just doesn't seem like his style to me.

If it is true and he is coming back it is a good thing for Coach Julian and Halls. Coach Shepard is a very good football coach and he will help that program once again.

HTV, I think you probably remember me and I can honestly tell you there is no truth to Shephard coming back to Halls. Not that it has anything to do with Halls but everything to do with the family restaurant and also his father living in Clarksville. I am sure some would love to see this happen and I am quite sure others are praying that it doesn't happen. But, it won't happen so no worries as this is just someone trying to stir things up about Halls, Coach Julian and Teddy W. People need to either get behind the ENTIRE current staff at Halls OR choose another school to root for. Period

I agree. This program is in dire straights at the moment and any help would be greatly appreciated. I talked to the administration yesterday afternoon and Mr. Duff informed me that the school board approved a motion to commute Coach Shepherd in for weekends only. Also, they were doing away with the old "strength and conditioning" supplement for high schools and replacing it with a "consultant" type position for each school and that is the role Coach Shepherd will be filling. And remember, if you read it on CoachT, it's gotta be true! ;)

Who does Powell and Central have in mind for that position?

This is a thread to bring em out of the wood work. I have it on authority that coach Julian has paid thousands of dollars to bring in 150 loads of top soil. This top soil will be placed on HHS'S sidelines. The current O.C. has trouble seeing the field from his current placement, hopefully the addition will allow him a higher venue. After spending that kind of cash, puss n' boots is going no where.

Thanks. From what I read in the Clarksville paper and what I remember as the reasons he left Halls in the first place, it surprised me that he would come back to Halls so quickly.

I stand by what I said, however. Coach Shepard is a good football coach. He has a lot left to give in that area.

And a side note, I wish I had known that his family has opened a resturaunt. I was in Clarksville for two weeks with my son up until he deployed to Afghanistan last Friday. I would have gone by and eaten there had I known. My son will be gone for a year. I'll have to try it next year when he gets back to Fort Campbell.

I'm betting that he don't come back to the crossroads. He went home for family and he has lost some of them. I think his father is still living, he has bought a restaurent, and I dont think he will come back here except if he still works the Pennington camp at Webb this summer. But you just never know do ya?

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
