Kevin38
Well Springfield has started off the season 2-0 and the games have progressed in difficulty from week to week and this week is no exception. Clarksville will field athletes similar to NE but I believe is a little better over all as a team. That coupled w/ Springfield playing at Clarksville makes for a tough test. I believe they can win this game but it will take a better effort than last week. Any thoughts? Edited September 5, 2010 by Kevin38
bellgo
Springfield needs to stay healthy and come ready to play for FOUR quarters, because Clarksville is a good team and playing at their place is not easy. One thing I noticed was that Springfield didn't quit when they were down two TDs against Northeast. They kept fighting and eventually won. The Jackets can do this. Exactly, NE seemed to crumble when Springfield tied the game up. I believe that is the diff w/ Clarksville; they will be to hold it together when they face adversity. This is why I believe Springfield cannot afford to dig themselves a hole this game and expect the same results..... Kevin38
Well next week, the Springfield Henry County thread will stay on the 1st page but not b/c of this fan base..... LEON
Oldest rivalry in 10AAA , this should be another good game. Clarksville blocked two punts against NW last week in the first half and coasted the rest of the way. The Jackets will have contain Bryan Merriweather and try to limit the big play ability of QB Devon Rodriguez. Springfield also has some big play ability and a much improved defense this season. I think this one will come down to the wire with two evenly matched teams.
QBClubPrez
Kevin38..as you know, turnovers are the great equalizer. I think that's what you are refering to a couple of posts back. A young Springfield team played the Patriots twice last year AND most Henry Countians saw a much improved Yellowjacket team during Round 1 of the playoffs opposed to their first visit! Indeed, they do not give in no matter the score! I am excited to see them play! Luckily, Clarksville High seems to be the most consistent team in Montgomery County. They are a contender once again this year it seems! I would love to see this game at C'ville High and hate to even predict a winner..much less a score. Unfortunately, outside of these two teams, Dickson, & HC, Ol' District 10 is not the state's shining star in football for 2010! Have a great game in Clarksville! Springfield, cook lots of burgers and dogs, we'll see you next week!
theydontcare
So are all the athletes back this week? Plus a Clarksville Homecoming will make this a dog fight for the Jackets and the Wildcats. Hope there is enough parking, and what a gate it should be! Good luck to both teams! OldJacketFan
The jackets gave this old man a scare friday night. We were ready to call the mob from the fair to escort those gentlemen calling the game. However, we finished on top in the end wining the game. Heard we have a few injuried players, and that Clarksville seems to have some out also. Any truth to these runors? Getting excited, and what will be the best way for me and the old lady to get to the school, and with homecoming what time will game begin? Ah man that guy calling the game was awful, you could tell he wasnt very knowledgeable about football or the rules. The best way to get to Clarksville high is to take I24 to exit 8 which is the Rossview exit, take a left, you will pass Rossview high which will be on the right, so dont mistake that as Clarksville high. From there just keep going until you reach the light w/ the gas station on the left. Take a left right there, you will run right into Clarksville high which will be on the left, just follow the stadium lights from there. As far as when the game starts it should be 7:30, all the HC festivities will probably be an hour or so b/4 the game starts.....
