The Coffee Co. Lady Raiders did something last night that they had not done since 1993. They defeated Shelbyville 51-41. Coffee County had not beaten Shelbyville at home, on the road or tournament play in at least 40 games.

Congrats to the Lady Raiders and Coach Muckle.

Good win, but shelbyville is not the team of old by no means, lets not get too excited yet. Lincoln county will be a more accurate test. Good luck to the girls.

I did find out that we have beaten Shelbyville twice since 93. My bad but still a GREAT win. May not be Shelbyville of old but a HUGE confidence builder for this team. BE PROUD!!

Yes it is true that Shelbyville will be back. Wingman and i remember the time when the coach got to

Coffee and was almost swept off the site for maybe some fair or unfair accusations. The last couple of years[ things have settled down but maybe they heve settled down from all sides. The coach seems to have proved, so I have ben told, that he can build a program. maybe no more changing around. No one has questioned his ability to coach. Yes its true, COFFEE is BACK and the players and school should be proud and so should the community around Manchester. Yes, its tough to fall off the top, even temporarily but it does feel good to be in a position to vault to the top ever so often and be acknowledged by your school and fans of some good wins. Yes the school is Coffee County, they are the lady Raiders and their coach is Coach Muckle and if I had the name of the assistant coach, I would post it too. Congrats/

I couldn't agree with Crimson101 more....Shelbyville is miles away from the program it used to be, could say the same about CC. A win is a win, and for that CC fans can be proud, but beating Shelbyville is not the hooplah that it once was. Shelbyville has a losing record so far if I'm not mistaken. I too think Lincoln County will be a better test of their mettle. We shall see.

Loooking back two to three years ago, the schools from Warren county to Franklin county which includes Coffee and Tullahoma had obviously gotten behind. It was also obvious there were fans who not only concerned with the state but some who were going to try to change the trend. A lot of the results was not because of coaching but a concentrated effort to get the fan base revved up and the students interested and parent groups made a difference. It looks as if things are on the right step, at least for now. And if your school is having a problem with interest, look in the mirror and find out who can help. Talk to your principal about the problem and talk to your booster club. Get active.

The crowd was better Saturday night. The girls have fight in them and they are improving every game. If they continue to work hard, they will only get better and hopefully the community will follow.

    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
    • Yeah. AC brass walked in to the building at Clinton and suggested that the principal start changing grades.  Honesty, the notion that anybody at AC was involved is just idiocy.  The ones who are hurt most are the kids who weren't involved in the cheating, but still are being penalized by college admission decisions and scholarship consideration simply because they went to a school that was involved in such a scandal.
