How does a team that is 7-8 make the top 10?

 

 

They have played a lot of larger schools in Ill and Kentucky tournaments.A couple schools had enrollments of around 1200 students.I think have only lost to about 3 Single A team and one of them was to Union City in a tournament and Lake Co avenged that loss by beating Union City in a district game the other night.Also a 3 point loss to Humboldt at HumboldtA couple of the losses were without any starters playing at all due to the football playoffs.But I can also see your point.And Perry Co is not ranked so going to be a lot of Perry Co people sounding off.Maybe rewarded Lake Co for playing tougher teams.Lake Co is suppose to have Trenton tonight,who is just out of the rankings and have a game at undefeated Middleton coming up as well.We'll see how they do against Single A teams.I'm not saying they are a top 10 team or at least maybe put Perry Co at the number 7 spot and Lake Co around 10th.But as far as the losses and the schedule..maybe need to do some homework.

Two of those losses Brighton and Westview were Hall of Fame Games when football players were not there. They played those games with 8 players only 2 of which play varsity minutes at all. Like bigster said Perry Co. should be in there somewhere but it is just a poll. They mean nothing except we as fans have something to debate!! The falcons are 5-1 in district play with lone loss to Humboldt by 3. Tournaments will decide the top 8 in the end.

I do not put anything at all into the rankings. Come crunch time we'll see who can get it done! It's a pride thing for most teams and i can see their point!

We,the people from Lake Co had nothing to do with this poll Glazed.You're right about the Sports Writers.T.T. Flowers were left off their all stste teams and one team had 3 girls that made it from a 3rd place team in their own district.Surprised our girls were voted #1 .Could see Wayne Co,Jackson Co,Scotts Hill or Moore Co at that spot.As for the boys poll,I'd have yall in.Greenfield has beaten Trenton so they may feel slighted as well.

i agree, I am from East Tn and I have seen Unaka and Wartburg boys both play, wartburg beat cloudland purty soundly, and Unaka lost by 5 to cosby. I just think the rankings do not matter at all, esp come tourney time. good teams will show who they are when the region starts.

What a joke this poll is. Jackson County hasn't lost to a single A team all year let alone 3 single A teams. Perry Co. not being in it is ridiculous as well. Good thing this isn't like the BCS lol. It will all be decided on the court!

You could be right but past years has nothing to do with this years team.Two years ago,Lake Co went to the state .All these girls were freshmen .Lake Co beat just about every team by 20 points last year.Beat Dyersburg and Brighton by over 30 points,two bigger schools.Beat Humboldt twice by around 20 points before not having their best game in the region and Humboldt pulled the upset.Lake Co did lose 3 good ball players but have 3 returning players,T.T. flowers,Carnation and Shamone Pearson that I'd put against any girl in the state.Plus about 4 pretty good role players.They don't have any seniors.I have looked at some of the scores.Moore Co is impressive.Same with Jackson Co.Lake Co could have beaten a lot of teams like Halls by 60 points.Beat a pretty good Union City team by 31.I saw Summertown play at Martin.I see Moore Co beat Summertown by about 14.Perry Co beat Summertown by 7 points.a difference of 7 points,..Lake Co just beat Perry Co by 16 points at Perry Co.If all the starters are on the floor and don't get in foul trouble,Lake Co can beat any of those teams.
