I expect JB to struggle with White House in the Jamboree; may even be ugly. I'm really happy to see us playing them though. This may be the only time all year that they play a team better than South Pittsburg.

 

Any word on the summer scrimmages; when & where?

I expect Jo Byrns to be everyone's Ambassador during the 2011 season. Jo Byrns is the team to beat in 1A football this season. The boys at South Pittsburg have a chance at being pretty good as well, but the bottom line is they lost Raquis Hale and several offensive linemen that wont be easily replaced. My preseason top teams would include the following.

 

1. Jo Byrns

2. Union City

3. South Pittsburg

4. Wayne County

5. Gordonsville

6. Lake County

7. Coalfield

 

The state champion will come from those top 5 teams.

Yea Moto but I'm glad we got some competition to prepare for week zero at 4A Macon co which is returning several from a playoff appearance last year..... Not sure but usually a fall scrimmage with watertown is a mainstay... Hopefully we can get a scrimmage with someone who will bring it to us, our boys need that. 3a chetham co gunna be tough with many guys returning also..... Here's the schedule..

football, 11 on 11, 4 downs to advance 10 yds. field length 100 yds endzone to endzone. 6 points for a touchdown, 1 point for a "after touchdown fg" 2 points if you run or throw it in after a touchdown. 3 pts for a fg that doesn't follow a touchdown. the other team gets 2 points if you get tackled in the endzone behind you.

 

followed by lots of other rules, that i'll explain once you can recite these basic concepts from memory.
