jake
I am from Blount County and don't know a lot about this situation, but from the oustside looking in, this situation doesn't add up. If a man has the tendency to hit kids in the way the media is portraying it, how does he coach 26 years at the same place without being reprimanded? Sounds like some parents are upset that someone made their kid sit down and shut up and have gotten the media involved and from there it has become a major travesty. Most parents today will not raise their kids, their kids rule them, and then they send them to school and expect a teacher to educate them or a coach to coach them. If a kid is not raised to respect their own parents, how can they ever respect any other authority, whether it be a teacher, coach, policeman, boss, etc... Just another indicator of how soft our decaying society has become.

Helton has been a class guy and has put some mighty good football teams on the field. He didn't forget how to coach overnight! You people that put this man in this position will reap your just rewards in the coming years. Sun sets over the Bobcats as Helton departs! You can keep talking about how Coach Helton was done wrong, but that will not change a thing. He was railroaded out because he was being back stabed by people just like the guy that back stabbed the other coaches. The back stabbers just wanted Coach Heltons job. What I do not understand is why no talk about one of the back stabbers getting the job, or wanting the job. Wo to who ever gets coach Helton's job. From Fountain City to Black Qak Ridge, the one who gets Coach Helton's job, will always be looking over his shoulder to see who is going to back stab him.
