i'd like to see alcoa compete with teams WITHOUT their recruits :thumb:

I suppose Goodpasture doesn't "recruit". I suppose CAK doesn't "recruit". If Alcoa "recruits" then by virtue of being a Blount County School that is open-zoned then this would also mean that William Blount, Heritage, and Maryville all "recruit" correct?

During this time span of success Alcoa also has wins over the likes of David Lipscomb and McCallie. I know I know! There's no way those schools "recruit" :roflol:

WHAT IS MY POINT?????

Alcoa's success should not be attributed to anything that is viewed as being "unfair" because they have played and beaten teams that do just as much (and then some) when it comes to that topic. It is unfair to take away from Alcoa's success when they are playing and beating teams that aren't exactly playing with kids from their own zone.

I guess I may look at things differently, but I don’t care if Alcoa “recruitsâ€. The bottom line is, they’ve built a great program where quality athletes want to play. When you win all of your games, people want to play on your team. That is just the way it works. Success breeds success.

I give all of the credit for their success to the coaching staff who has established the winning program and the players who have put in the work. I don’t think you can dismiss their success simply by saying "they win because they recruitâ€.

What about all the teams that they play and beat that don't do what they are doing?

Im just going to be honest SP year in and year out will not beable to compete with Alcoa we only have 250 kids in our high school so it would be hard. I wouldnt say were scared were just not dumb. And polk is a hard match up for us there big and run straight ahead. last year we had a few lineman out when we played them and it would have made it closer if they were there but dont think we would have won. SP does good to be so small I dont know about who recuits but are kids are SP kids and we play bigger teams because most 1a teams are not good enough. Good luck to Alcoa I would love for us to play yall because I respect yall program but guess will see yall in Cookville.

My reply to this question is:

"There are many districts in the state in which quality football teams just run out of talent to compete against elite football teams."

PRIME EXAMPLE: Greenbrier losing their opportunity to win the District 9-AA Championship in Week 10 the last 2 years because they fell to Goodpasture :thumb:

Is Goodpasture being "called out" to the extent which Alcoa is called out? NO!

Why is that the case?
