Really thought Greenfield would be down afyer losing Jordan Gailey but I thought the overall balance of this team is better.Last year it was mostly Jordan with occassional help from Mullins and the others.Looks like Mullins has steppes up her game along with #21.Lake Co is going to have to play well to beat Greenfield. If Bradford is improved, and I know how good Street is and along with Union City.Going to ba a tough district along with South Fulton.Havent seen Trenton yet though or Halls but am expecting them to be at the bottom this year.

Slow down Bigster, Greenfield is rebuilding and will get better as the season goes on. We can be better than last year but lets just wait and see. Dont try and shift the pressure off of Lake County because this is Lake County's year, we are all playing for second place. Give us a couple years and it could be something special over here in Greenfield. We have some talent coming up and gaining experience every game. This will be a fun year. Watch out for Bradford.

I havent seen Bradford but have seen Lake Co.,Union City and Greenfield.Still going with Lake Co but Grrenfield in my opinion is better than Union City and will push Lake Co for the top spot. Was very impressed with #40,believe it's Mullins,#13 looked good and number 21 is a shooter.Looks like to me ,have to play tight on #40 and make sure someone is on #21 on a kick out. Also impressed with the point guard and #22 that I saw was a freshman.Good looking team.Spacing was good on offense but what I like is their quickness on defense overall.Going to be able to run with Lake Co.I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Lake Co and Greenfield will be the likeliest teams to make it to the Boro on our end.But again.I havent seen Bradford but I'm going with Lake Co and Greenfield both over Union City .

I would agree that they may be better now than UC.They are still searching offensively. As Amber Fair goes,UC goes. They got some girls playing out of position, because of how young they are on the bench.Playing 4 freshman and 1 sophomore off the bench.I really think that Jackie Hudson and Tory Reedy need to be playing down low.If a girl or two off the bench come along,it would allow them to slide inside and then i think they will be a tough out in the tourney.

I am glad to see that UC has dropped down in expectations, but the problem will still remain for every team that plays against UC and that is how can we match up. The earlier in the season the other teams play UC the better for them. The girls are 4-2 while trying to figure out how to play together by game 10 they will be a completly different team and should be rolling well as a team. The zone is the only thing that slows them down and they are figuring that out as well good luck to all District starts Friday with Bradford. Should be a good one unless Fair is hot then it will be a blowout.

That's fine with me what will your tune be when UC wins, I got one for you Wow sound familiar. Bradford played some real tough A schools early in thier schedule I wouldn't write the check just yet. There is only one game UC can say they dropped the ball on and that is Dresden. I think the level of competition UC has played early will help in district. Hope Greenfield's Schedule proves the same.

I will take Bradford over Union City Friday night and if its at Bradford it may not be close. Bradford has a 10 point advantage just in the coaching.

This is getting to be fun now..lol..Union City,Bradford,Greenfield and Lake Co.All seem ready to be loaded ,at least as the season goes along..And I haven't seen or heard about South Fulton but do know they have a very good player and if she has some help should be a quality team.

Again.I havent seen Bradford but have seen Greenfield and Union City.Like Chipper says.Union city is probably playing some people in different spots to see which direction they want to go.I should have said Greenfield looks better than Union city at this time. But Union City had a couple people bringing the ball up the court that isn't going to work against a good quick team. But in saying that. Not trying to take pressure off Lake Co.From what I have seen Greenfield is quick enough on the defensive side of the ball to not let Lake Co do some things they like. Not sure the press will do much damage against Greenfield.Lake Co hasn't looked very good in the early going like I thought they would.Haven't gotten the ball down low to Carnation at all.Settling for three's.And has not looked as quick as I thought.

The Bradford UC game is at UC. If Bradford is hitting the 3, Fair will need to be hot to keep it close. If they are off UC's bench will get some playing time. I hope UC does not think that Street is all Bradford has. They have five girls that can shoot the lights out. I would hope one of them would be on for game night, but with kids you never know. They are some good young girls on this team. Street's cousin is a freshman that will be a good player for the next four years. Then the Richardson twins are in the eight grade. Every year Bradford has a kid move on their will be another there to take her place for the next few years. As long as Eddings is there Bradford will have a shooters chance.

You know what they say you live by the three you die by the three. You can shoot yourselves into a game and out of a game. Simply put the key to winning is finding the biggest mismatch and exploting it. That's all coaching is, putting your players in a position to be the most successful. If you are relying on shooting to win you will be at a disadvantage. Defense wins games and it is hard to shoot with defense in your face.

You just eliminated Union City with those remarks.

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
