Alcoa and Maryville will win out and be state champs again.

Aluminam Company of America might be in for a challenge for a what?.....8 peat?....had to rely on a trick play (double pass) and a punt return to beat Cleveland...and then lost to M-Ville...was it a bad recruiting year a few years ago?...will Alcoa keep the title of the best team in Knoxville?

I'm sorry. You need geography lessons if you think Alcoa and Knoxville are the same.

Maryville is the best team in state this year and Alcoa hung with them. Cleveland was shut down and Alcoa kept it bland outside of the first drive and simply won. Made big improvements going into the Maryville game, and now I imagine they will leave a path of destruction through 3A.

Go ahead and pile on when you can. Take advantage because with the exception of a few losses to Maryville you haven't had many chances in the past decade. Hats off to Maryville. These games are always tough and Alcoa will be fine the rest of the year. I'll take Gary and this group of coaches and playes any day.

IF it takes a trick play to win the game so be it cleveland could not beat them or stop the trick play and they only lost to the best team in the state of Tenn. So if maryville beat you by 7 points the other teams don't have a chance to beat Alcoa in 3 A NOT EVEN MILAN!

I don't know if I'd say the other 3A teams don't even "have a chance." This Alcoa team is very good, but pretty clearly not nearly as loaded as last year's team, which was the best high school team I've ever seen. This year's Alcoa team might very well win out, but my humble opinion is it won't be as easy as it was the last two years.

[hunkers down and waits for some of the Alcoa die-hards to pile on now]
