GWAVE1 I was trying to wait to give you the honor to post this but you are taking too long. I hope your offense is the same way come Friday night. To be honest I would love to say my Bears will win this game but this game is a complete mystery to me. I think it will be a hard hitting close game that comes down to the final minute before we know who wins this one. Get their early. They might have to turn people away on this one. Go BEARS!

Haha...I was actually waiting for someone else to start it.

Well MJpride I feel like you do, I wish I could say that the Wave wins this game but it is going to be a huge dog fight. Since preseason these two teams have been 1 and 2 in this district. Not saying that the winner of this game is district champion because Hendersonville is still lurking out there. But the winner definitely gets a hand up on the competition. Both teams have alot of respect for each other and both have a bevy of skill players. Line play is going to be crucial. Gallatin and Mt Juliet have both scouted each other 2 weeks ago and Mt Juliet got another good look at the Wave this past week. The Golden Bears have had time to heal up and I am sure Perry has installed a few new facets to the offense these past 2 weeks. For Gallatin, they have gotten to see 2 offenses that are similar to MJ and this past week got a good test against a tough running fullback. The Green Wave have plenty to work on with doing a better job stopping the fullback and continue to stop the option pitch. Luckily Gallatin didn't have to show too much against Brentwood. There are plenty of plays in the arsenal that MJ has not seen.

Gallatin fans better get there early because it will be a huge crowd. Should be one of the top 3 games reguardless of class this week in the state.

I was encouraged tonight to hear one of Gallatin's players say that we used virtually nothing out of the playbook against Brentwood. This is going to be an interesting game, because both teams havent really gone deep into their schemes I don't think... Gallatin has played a tougher schedule to date, with Oakland and Brentwood - but I don't think they showed much in the Oakland game either. From what I'm hearing, they have been saving it for this week. I'm sure MJ has done the same. I haven't heard very many people giving Gallatin a chance in this one, which is surprising considering they beat Oakland and Brentwood. I don't do score predictions in games like this one, because it always comes back to bite me. But I do feel alot better having a Williams calling offensive plays this year.

This is true with MJ. The game against Beech was about as plain of an offense as you could get. They could not stop about 3 basic plays run by the Bears. MJ has been able to run a vey vanilla offense to this point. This makes for a hard game to predict. This could go either way. A close game or a complete lopsided game. Don't think either team really knows for sure. Friday can't get here fast enough.

No way I see a lopsided game. I think it will be a high scoring game like the recent games have gone. Both are going to have a few surprises. Mount Juliet is sure to have some different blocking schemes to confuse the defense. Gallatin had better really practice hard on tackling these tough runners. Brentwood showed that you have to wrap up and sometimes hang on for help to arrive.

On a side note, I am really not happy about the Tenneesean and their backhanded comment towards Gallatin in the midstate poll. 3 wins by 7 or less. Nashville media have given us no repect and that includes Chad from 104.5 The Zone. Murphy had some unflattering words as well. Just tired of all the disrepect. Win or lose this game, Gallatin has proven themselves this year. I guess the Green Wave will just have to keep proving the naysayers WRONG!!!

Ole Chad Withrow is a MJ grad and does a terrible job of covering up his bias. Not that I. Could do a better job myself. Only way to turn people around is to win. As far as the game, I can't recall in recent memory a game this late in the season where two teams have been playing so conservatively just to unleash in one game. I hope the game lives up to the hype and isn't a blowout. I see this one being a shootout with all the unseen offense from both teams.

Just a few stats to show how potent Mount Juliet's offense is:

QB- Chowbay is 21 of 48 for 481 yards with 8 tds

Graham has 24 carries for 265 yards and 4 tds plus he has 2 kickoffs returned for tds

Hopkins has 24 carries for 314 yards and 6 tds also 7 receptions for 145 yds and 3 tds

McCathern 50 carries for 374 yards and 6 tds

Garza 15 carries for 170 yards and 1 td

Street has 11 receptions for 267 yards and 5 tds

The other kickoff returner has returned 1 as well for a td.

Mt Juliet is avg 43 points on offense while only giving up 16 pts per game

Gallatin has a lot to prepare for.

Go Green Wave!!

Just to add a little more of a team comparison (not that these stats mean much):

Average Points Per Game: Gallatin 31.5 Mt. Juliet 43.6

Average Points Allowed: Gallatin 15.6 Mt. Juliet 16.8

Common Opponent (Lebanon): Gallatin 41-0 Mt. Juliet 38-13

Even on paper this looks to be a premier match up!

This one has all the makings of a classic down to the wire all out brawl. Gallatin comes in to this game having played a tougher schedule than MJ but there is no arguing that MJ has put up more attractive stats in the games they have played. Gallatin will have to focus on the full back for Mt. Juliet but cannot fail to guard the pitch man like they did against Brentwood.

Is this game a 7:00pm kick? Either way I'm gonna get there when the gates open! I'm guessing there will be an outstanding crowd. Mt. Juliet faithful better get there early if you don't want the Wave fans to take over your home side :popcorneater:

    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
