sonofmandingo
Okay he was wrong .. Covington by 14, and btw OC's baseball team is terrible except for 1 kid Covington by 20......really?? I don't see that. Oh well, enough on that. It is GAMEDAY. #5 Covington vs #3 Obion Co. It has been talked about for some time, how this looks to be a good one. Two GOOD football teams, with very different styles. OC 's D will be tested by a solid rushing attack from the Chargers. The Rebel D, which has got better it seems each week, needs to be solid, and avoid giving up big plays. The numbers OC has put up on offense have been pretty amazing, as they have scored in bunches. Turnovers, or lack there of and special teams I think will play a big part in this one. Covington by 20????? Here's a hunch.....OC by at least a couple of touchdowns. Side note: If you are coming to the game, come early, it will be a "Packed house" And remember to support the OCCHS Baseball team, as they are having a Fish dinner, prior to the game. 6 bucks a ticket. Come early and get a meal, and then get ready for what should be a very interesting night at Rebel Field. GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
justaOCfan
Okay he was wrong .. Covington by 14, and btw OC's baseball team is terrible except for 1 kid Sorry troll, you gotta do better than that. Go ask the Dyersburg baseball coach how terrible OC baseball is. Ask Crockett County or Covington. Later Dingo
Tornadopride
Dyersburg will give O C troubles as well. They are back to normal so to speak but who knows. I don't see to many Rebel followers on here this morning... I have said all year...get a team on the field with a very good offense and that will tell how good the Rebel D really is. there is no doubting the offense. O C couldn't outscore their opp. last night and that showed to me as I was there. Arm tackling..well, that means speed...and speed and good d kills with Covington kids blasting by the others on the O C Team. McGrew was taken out of the game totally and game plan for Chargers was great. They scounted the Rebels two games and knew what they had to do. This loos will more than likely either send the Rebels on the road to Memphis first round or they will host round two if they can win. Godd luck. VOREBS
Okay he was wrong .. Covington by 14, and btw OC's baseball team is terrible except for 1 kid Well I said the Rebs had to avoid giving up big plays, they did not, and OC gets it's first loss of the season. Covington is a solid team, which runs the ball really well, which is no surprize. OC must tend to the next two games, and put them the best position for the play-offs. OC is still a GOOD football team, lot of things made last night different from the rest of the season, main one, the head Coach was not there much due to illness. OC will be fine! GO REBELS!!!! oh and the comment about the baseball team, we will see next spring.
GCPioneer
Well, I was at this game last night as well. Covington's RB's were the real deal. I'm not going to say that Covington is completely one dimensional because when they did pass the QB looked to have a nice pass. They just didn't need to pass last night. Covington's offensive line seemed to have their way last night as well. Very nice job by Covington as a team! For OC, LeDevin made some great plays, primarily the one where he ran over 3 defenders on his way to the end zone. Parr was not exactly up to "par" last night. He looked as if he did not care in that second half. OC should bounce back next week against Hawyood and then set up a big week 10 game against Dyersburg. treefitty74
Good game last night...but Ill have this sick feeling for awhile after that one...Because we didn't take care of business in the 1st half...Covington did in the 2nd...They thrashed our defense...It was disgusting...Covington is one heckuva team...And Congrats to them on the win they deserved it more tonight...Good thing about tonight is the season isn't over...Just gotta take this loss...learn from it...correct the mistakes and come out blazing from here on out....Sorry Haywood... Go Rebs... Good to see ya again GC...
StBentley
They scounted the Rebels two games and knew what they had to do. Scouting is way overrated, though Covington has a coach that there is a running joke about his affinity for watching tape/film. I know two coaches who have won the gold ball who look @ game film less than 5 minutes.

StBentley
well i guess obion dont watch enough Has nothing to do with watching the film. Coach watched just as much when Covington was 0-10,2-8 as well. If it was the film watching, they would of won then. The players are what is responsible for winning, most veteran coaches know this. Often wannabes wanna feel relevant.. Covington simply has better players. Obion could watch all they want. Covington wins 3 out of 4 in this matchup. Both have decent squads this season, cov just has slightly more this season.

Your out of your mind if u think that buddy! These 2 teams are evenly matched and Obion could have easily put the game almost out of reach in the 1st half! Was you even at the game? Probably not...and if thats the case, hear say wont get ya far. The chargers are a good team, but i wont go as far as saying that they are hands down better than OC. They are the same caliber team. tbiggs
I vote this guy dad of the year.... we have all seen that post before about it being obvious on here who has never crossed a white line...... but if you get your feeling hurt on this site... you need to toughen up... It wasn't a tough game... all it was, was a big game.. and OC lost. But you are a classy dude..DAD OF THE YEAR!!! I bet you played a mean flute standing on the 45! If it wasn't a tough game why does OC have all those ice troughs, now it's real obvious you wore black socks to p.e.
Maxoutlh
REALITY IS.... over 500 yards rushing put up on your defense tonight by not one or two but several backs from covington. Was is it a chocolate cupcake or a vanilla one that you had? You have some goods players on the team but they seem to fold when the going gets tough. If OC and Covington played 10 times, i would bet most would agree that the records would be close to even. Don't act like Cov blew OC out. It was back and forth all game till Cov scored within the last few minutes. Also, don't talk about kids that you know nothing about. Those kids gave it their all, I will say one did fold, but as a team they stuck together. Please, post more intelligently in the future. Don't make assumptions.
