since when would that be all that shocking, and seeding will come into play i cant see them making a 7-3 lake co. a number 1 when you have a team like huntingdon in west tn, and also given quad 3 will be tough even with out huntingdon being in i may be wrong but i think they will leave hunt. in quad 4

Your entitled to your opinion. Will it changed on Tuesday if Huntingdon is listed in quad 3?

For more information on how they set the quads click on this link: http://www.tssaa.org/d1football/index.cfm and watch the second video from the top. Note that Earl says in the very beginning of the video "these are not hard fast rules...they are guidelines". Basically the TSSAA can do whatever they see fit. We're only guessing at what they'll do based on their guidelines.

your right its my opinion and thats all your doing the fact is neither of us know what tssaa will do they have been known to be somewhat unpredictable you know i think we can agree on that and even if they are in quad 3 your assuming they would get the #1 seed the winner of the wc/pc game could very well get that

Only if Huntingdon loses to Dresden. Otherwise, Huntingdon will be the #1 seed in quad 3.

not sure what basing that on , if its because of there #1 ranking thats the media voting, a couple years ago im almost positive jo byrns was ranked ahead of wc in ap poll but wc got #1 seed in quad 3 , so there is always that chance

Trying to predict what the TSSAA will do is like trying to predict an earthquake.lol

I still believe huntingdon will be seeded number one in quad 4. it appears very obvious to me that in order for that quad to have some validity they have too. Otherwise the quad will be full of 4-6 teams with wildcards as their majority makeup. The tssaa leaves themselves a huge opening to do whatever they want within their "rules". I

predict quad four will have some surprises not thought of

What would be the difference if 3 of the top 4 teams were in Memphis or Knoxville one of the extremities of the state?

One would be moved to another Quad. That's why they they call it seeding. If not they can go back to the predetermined brackets. This would be contradicting the purpose of the change they made.Huntington has been in Quad 4 since they were first announced. Don't see them moving regardless of the outcome of this weeks games.Guess anything could happen though.

This is from the TSSAA handbook on their site. How can people not understand this. They will select their 24 first and then group them geographically. It even says that grouping will be done without regard to district alignments. This is not rocket science. I am not saying it is fair but the TSSAA is grouping this based on geography first record does not matter. So it doesnt matter if there is not a district champ or what the records are when it comes to grouping. The only times district champs and records matter is when teams are being seeded which is done after they are grouped into 4 six-team quadrants. I can not make this anymore clear and it is right here for you to read. If guidelines are followed which they will most likely be then Huntingdon and Bruceton go to quad 3 do to quad 4 being filled with teams that are geographically closer.

Once the 24 teams have been selected in the Class 1A and 2A playoffs, the teams will be geographically grouped

into four six-team quadrants. Once the 32 teams have been selected in the Class 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A playoffs, the teams will be geographically grouped into four eight-team quadrants. This grouping will be done without regard to district/region alignments.

Priority for seeding once the teams have been placed in their geographic quadrants shall be as follows:

1. Teams finishing 1st in their district will receive first priority.

2. Teams finishing 2nd in their district will receive second priority.

3. Teams who do not finish 1st or 2nd in their district and qualify based on their position in the football play-off standings shall receive last priority.

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
