I agree that Jeff Co. may struggle and not win out. That would place Farragut into Quad 1... But does a 2 loss team (Farragut) jump a 1 loss team(Sevier Co.)?? assuming they both win out..

I too am interested in knowing how this would effect Sevier Co. How could a district winner with a better record be seeded lower than a district runner-up with a worse record?

Your seeding projections are incorrect. District winners are seeded first. Runners-up are then seeded. Finally wild cards are seeded. Here are a few examples of the mistakes you made.

1. Farragut cannot seed higher than Sevier Co. if like you predict, Sevier Co. wins out. Sevier Co. would be a district winner and Farragut would be a runner up.

2. You have Siegal winning out. This would make them district runner-up in D7 (also because you also have Riverdale beating Oakland), thus making Blackman a wildcard. Therefore, Coffee Co. would be seeded higher than Blackman in Quad 2 because Coffee Co. would be a Runner-up and Blackman qualifies by wild card.

Hope this helps.

dang it....i knew I should have looked a little closer before getting too happy. You are right. I also don't think Siegel beats Smyrna next week, which would make Blackman a 4 seed I believe.

Also another mistake in Quad 3 If Overton is 8-2 and a district runner -up wouldn't they be the 5 and Franklin the 6 at 7-3? So Overton would go to Dickson and Franklin would go to Siegel. But I hope my Dawgs change that as well.

I am not that familiar with Quads 2-4 but PJM is correct. One of the explanation videos on TSSAA website seeds a sample quad and I don't see any way Farragut jumps Sevier Co. as long as they win out.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
