DB already treated Greenville like the rest of the Big Eight earlier this year beating them 21-0 before we pulled the 1st team. How many more times do you idiots have to be told. There must be as many idiots in J.C. as there are little fairy boys. Lol. Good luck with the whole Mascott search and i still believe the unicorn jumping through the rainbow on the fifty yard line will be the perfect thing for a bunch like you. Roll Tribe!!!! The streak continues....... :roflol:

dbFAN91 . . . Its been my experience that 98% of the people associated with Dobyns-Bennett High School (coaches, players, students, parents, teachers, community) are classy and a respectful bunch. You (dbFAN91) regrettably fall in the other 2%. And I don't think we have to say what that other 2% consists of.

oh, how did the stadium get its name. Who was the Kermit - Tipton ?

Kermit Tipton was Steve Spurrier's football coach at Science Hill. Which Spurrier wanted the stadium named after. So with Steve's wish and $100,000+ it was named Kermit Tipton stadium. The field is named after Steve Spurrier.

The reason i think we win by so much is that we need to let our starters play the entire game to get ready for the playoffs next week. After all, we've had the continuous clock about the entire year and the starters have been done by halftime. And Swafford and Foreman are the top two scorers in the conference.Roll Tribe!!!!!!!!

Granted, it's certainly a down year for the 5A teams. What I wonder is if TN high would have been better (or possibly worse) had Stubbs been able to stay. While I'd imagine they wouldn't have had as bad of a turnover issue running the old Offense, they've become more dynamic with their new spread O. It seemed like their D was pretty good this year despite being put in rough spots by turnovers. Vikes fans care to weigh in? Cap, 04, etc? (I know this is the SH/DB thread, but it seems like its become the de facto Big 8 thread this week. And I kinda like it.)

The biggest difference is Stubbs would've never put the defense in so many tough situations as they have been put into this season, especially considering the defense was pretty bad for the first part of the season. It's good to go for it on 4th down, but not every time in my opinion. He called a fancy trick play early in the Crockett game when it was 4th down around Tennessee High's 10 yard line...didn't work out too well. And last Friday they went for it on their own 34 yard line in the 3rd quarter when the score was still 21-7. Despite this, I believe the Vikes will have some good seasons under Boggs provided he stays.

If Stubbs stayed I believe he would've needed to try a few things differently. I wouldn't be surprised if the Vikings have the smallest o line in the conference. They don't have a back over 155. One rb who started getting playing time 3 years ago as a freshman quit before the season started. Another, the best overall player for the Vikes in my opinion, was kicked off the team after two games this year. So, things would've been difficult regardless of who was coaching the Vikings.

The VHS game was just one of those freak accidents. I believe they would've lost to almost any team that night.

    • I have no clue if Derek tried to talk some since into his dad or not about staying here. All he is going to accomplish is going from the oven to the frying pan. If I were the coach all Ale would freze over before I set back and watched one of my good players leave without a fight.
    • If this is true, South Gibson is taking a big chance. Passing on an experienced coach for a guy who has never coached at the high school level is a high risk move, especially in that district and region.
    • Dorian Eskridge was HVA's best back, 2011
    • Jo Byrns was a very solid team last year. Imo, I thought they presented the biggest challenge for us on our path to winning it all last year. I expect them to be in the conversation and one of the final few teams playing in Murfreesboro
    • I'm not sure you understand anything if you think DB's career and AD's career are comparable.  This is a terrible take.   Not to slight AD, He was a good player and he got better as he matured after high school.   But Desean had over 8,000 yards in HS and was a two-time Mr. Football.
