  1. 1. Another Upset?

Farragut has a 2 game losing streak. William Blount is 1-1

Against common opponents in their last 2 games (Maryville & Lenoir City):

Farragut has scored 27 points vs WB 55.

Farragut has given up 61 vs WB 68.

WB beat LC while Farragut lost.

WB scored 21 against Maryville, Farragut 6.

Farragut playing their worst football of the season, WB their best.

Will Farragut go down to defeat for the 3rd week in a row or will they finally play inspired football at home on senior night?

I think this will be a very competitive game. WB is much improved football team and is playing good football . Farrgut seems to struggle if they have to pass or there qb read running game isnt working. I think this will be very close and i wouldnt be suprised if william blount wins it but i think being at home and senoir night at farragut they will be hungry for the win after back to back losses and pull out a close one.

Willy is pumped after the way they played against Murvul, albeit the second and third string. Fairygut quits after the team they are playing against doesn't roll over when they see the Admirals walk onto the field. Willy B wins this one 20-10 and it won't be an upset!

Papy, were you at the game? How much of the game do you think WB played against Maryville's second and third string? Just curious.

Thanks for your vote of confidence in picking the Govs to beat Farragut. Hope you are right.

Govman and Pappy,

Sorry to jump into your conversation but I wanted to comment earlier on Pappy's statement. I am pretty sure the first two WB scores were on MHS's 1st team. The 3rd score was on 2nd/3rd team. Maryville did have 2nd and 3rd team QB in for most of the 2nd half due to Patton's injury. I believe that had a huge impact on the game. WB offense surprised me, I have seen them in 2 other games and this was by far the best I have seen them. If they play FHS like they did Friday night, they will win.

Please don't bother Pappy with the facts, his focus must remain razor sharp on deriding all Maryville opponents - the only consideration whether to be implicit or explicit. The sad thing is that he has an outstanding team to support yet is only capable of spewing venom. I take it he's a parent which makes it all the more pathetic.

Where William Blount and Farragut are concerned, I think it's shaping up to be a great game. I remember a number of really good matchups between these schools in years past. Best I can tell William Blount won't be able to make the playoffs thanks to the TSSAA's ruling on the Central game, but they can continue their improved play of the last few weeks, get a benchmark win, and build some excitement for the off season and next year. Farragut obviously wants to regroup before the playoffs begin and needs to win in order to assure itself a 2nd place finish in the district.

Hope to see a hard fought, injury free game.

MHS82,

Your memory is correct. Maryville played 2nd / 3rd string qb the entire second half. Other than that, they played their starters into early 4th quarter. Wasn't sure why Pappy couldn't be content with a 41-21 win without having to take an underhanded jab at William Blount (who I thought played 3/4 of a heck of a game).

Hopefully with it being Senior Night Farragut will show so pride and come out and play hard. Although Farragut has ahd the upper hand on WB for a few years there have been some really hard fought wins. With the fragile Farragut psyche you never really know what your going to get. I think that after 2 miserable weeks of ineffectual running that the OL will show some of the pride and fire that they displayed early in the year. Back to basics should be the theme of the week.

I haven't seen WB play this year, so if you WB fans can shed some light on what to expect and who the players to watch out for are it would be appreciated.

Cletus im not sure how the wildcards work, but if WB wins and Catholic beats Bearden that would put WB 3rd in the district, I know only top 2 are locked in(Maryville,West). If they only base it on record I believe we will be on the outside looking in, but if they look at how the district finishes then WB has a chance. If all of this does happens and WB doesnt get in and Bearden does then they will be putting the 5th place team in the district in over the 3rd..... at 5-5 I think WB would have been a lock 4-5 im not sure, you are right the Bearden game and Central game killed....

These players need something good to happen to them.10 wins 4 years no playoffs, this Senior class is a pretty special class if this does happen I would just feel terrible for everyone of them.

WB 31 FHS 21 in a mild upset....

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
