Well, I'm hearing that it's going to be Coach Bob Winston.

 

My opinion on the Gibson Co. job...

 

Whoever takes over is going to have to get our athletes out of the hallways and onto the field. Gibson Co. has so many athletes walking throughout the school that should be out on the football field. We had NO speed on this years team. I'm telling you, if all of these athletes that I'm talking about, were to play football, Gibson Co. football could be atleast 5-5 every year if we played a weak non district schedule. If we drop to 2A like we should in the next reclassification, we will be alot better off and actually have a chance to compete.

 

On a side note, good luck to all of the coaches putting in applications for this job. You have no clue what kind of mess you're about to get into.

Tough, if not impossible, job at Gibson County. Other than Tucker's year there in the 90s, I don't know if they have ever been competitive.

 

However, what I don't understand is how South Gibson can open up a new school and be competitive off the bat. Were these kids not GC kids before?

Whoever gets the job plays in a district with Martin-Westview, Milan, Crockett Co, South Gibson, Dyersburg, Obion County Central, Covington, Ripley, and Haywood.

Tucker was at GCHS for only one year. They haven't won a game since October of 2008 against Dresden.

Solomon, yes, some of those were GC kids. However, now you're starting to get a mixture of Jackson kids into Medina. As I said, these coaches putting in for this job have no clue what they're getting into. It's more than just a coaching job, lol, but I hope we get a coach to turn this program around.

 

bigredbird, I'm thinking we're expected to drop to 2A in another year or two. I'm not sure what 2A we'd get put in, but all we can do is hope to be competitive at that level.
