Rhea county fans let's give our coach a chance!let's see if he can build this program back to a state power.let don't judge him after only one season.I believe what will help this program more than anything is to get involved with it and not only during football season.drive up or give the coach a call and see if there is anything that you can do to help out.volunteer your time or make a donation.and also encourage you kids to play, this county once was football crazy kids dreamed about playing and being like there friday night heroes but it seems that somehow that has been lost.there is tallent at that school but they just need someone to encourage them to get on the field.for me football was the best thing in my life during high school and like myself anyone that ever played at RC wishes they could go back and do it again.

Nice post. It would help his case with some if he was not always looking for an excuse or laying blame on whomever he can. After reading the herald last night thats what I got out of it. He was trying to sneak in a jab at the previous staff every chance he could. His whining, excuses, and laying blame among what I have already witnessed is not going to get me to buy in to what he is doing here! I also noticed Eaglefan's young man not mentioned one time in the article. Like her or not her boy was a standout and a leader! Was that a coicidence? I doubt it. If a kid deserves something they need to get it!!! PERIOD!

Thanks, RCG, but I wouldn't call my son a standout. He did his job and I would like to think he tried to be a leader, but he knew that is what we expected from him. Nothing noteworthy or newsworthy there.

I will say I was disappointed in the article as a whole for the way Greene sort of shrugged off the seniors in general. He should have mentioned Tim Loden, who made extraordinary plays; Josh York who was a beast especially the last half of the season; I didn't notice the Kidd boy mentioned, not sure if he is a senior or not but he, too, really came alive this year. One of my favorites, Cameron Burton, wasn't mentioned; Ethan Beddingfield...I could go on and on but it's water under the bridge. Their days on the football field at RCHS are over so now we look to the next group of young men.

I hope they have a much better experience with our current coach than our senior boys did this year.

And as a side note I would like to say a personal thank you to Coach Mitchell and Coach Fitzgerald and Coach Kinney who always offered the boys - especially the seniors - consistent guidance and support and encouragement throughout the season.

The article, quite frankly, made me want to vomit.

Going to the team hudles at the end of games it is all you heard. How the seniors were setting the foundation. And they were left pretty much out. I will say that this senior group from the kids I know were great young men. I applaud you for hanging in there. As you say they stepped up and the Loden kid put us good situations on his punting each week.

Does anyone know if any of these seniors are going to play college ball anywhere?
