What makes you think the coaches overlook your son? I believe he has played on the varsity since his sophomore

year.

I have the highest respect for our coaches. They do a wonderful job every year. I'm talking about opposing coaches that don't see him as a threat. Coach davis and staff have been very good to my son. And yes he has been out the at mlb since sophomore year. Sorry if you took it the wrong way.

There is no question that injuries play a huge part in high school football. The reality is that this game is not just about talent and determination but also about how healthy you can stay. A number of teams that I follow closely have had players that have been injured this year and it has affected their stats accordingly. One of my favorites for CAK, #54, went out for the season with an ACL tear. It is even more tough to see a substantial injury during senior year. My heart goes out to the mom who is her son's biggest fan and has to see their potential cut short by injuries, but that is the nature of the game they love. Here's to a good clean contest with no injuries Friday night between two very good football teams. Polk fans, have a safe trip to Knoxville and we hope you enjoy your visit to CAK. It's a small but very nice facility and the people are as good as you'll meet.

Good post. Weather should be great. However, I am pulling for my alma mater...Go Wildcats!

All these seniors biggest and most lasting accomplishment will never be any individual achievement or award. Football is IMO the ultimate team sport. Polks seniors have been a part of more victories than any class that has been before them, that is the ultimate stat that makes all others pale. That fact is the one we as old men will recall as long as our memories last, possibly a player or two, but most definitely the TEAM.

oh so glad Friday is here...well wishes to all the Polk fans as they travel.

It should be a dry field for a change, I hear rumors that #25 will be 100% and playing tonight, something we have not seen in the last three games. If the boys in blue and gold are on tonight watch out.

I hope that is correct. Having to defend #'s 16, 5, and 25 puts a lot of pressure on a defense. Whether #25 plays or not, I think CAK's biggest obstacle to moving the ball on offense in EVERY game is themselves. I don't believe anyone is going to consistently stop the Warriors except the Warriors. The keys to me tonight are #1, can CAK slow down the Polk pounding offense enough to get them off the field and not let them chew up the clock keeping the CAK "O" on the bench. #2, can the Warrior players and coaches be PATIENT enough to not try to force the ball into situations where they shouldn't. IMHO, the way CAK loses this game is if they turn the ball over. No turnovers = a victory. It's going to be cold tonight. Can't wait to see this match up between two outstanding teams.

Good post, I completely agree. :thumb: Patience will be key on both offense and defense. You know Polk will have some success offensively pounding the ball with their big back or scooting around the end with their fast QB (not as fast as #15 from Alcoa though), and they can raise up and throw it as well. I don't think any of us should expect the Warrior D to go out and pitch a shutout tonight, but hopefully with their resurgence the past half of the year they can limit Polk's offense enough to get the job done. Defensively the Wildcats played a lot of cover 4 last year and tried to keep everything in front of them, allowing completions underneath but nothing over the top. They did a good job of limiting our receivers on the yards after catch. CAK is use to scoring quickly and often, so we must be patient and take what Polk gives us. If they rush 3 and drop 8 like we have seen so many times this year, then we need to go to the run like we did against Alcoa. We are accustom to scoring in the high 30's or 40's each week and then killing the clock. This week the coaches and players must be patient and methodically work the ball down field. Not our style I know, but that is what I expect tonight.

I heard #25 is playing also. Cant wait to see if he picks up where he left off. Having to defend all the receivers are difficult. Cant wait to see there corners be competitive! Do you think #25 can pick up where he left off?

Its possible #25 could pick up where he left off, but I wouldn't expect him to be back to that level yet. He has essentially missed 3 games and hasn't practiced until late this week. Our passing attack is sophisticated and requires precision routes, many are timing routes. So while #25 has taken a lot of snaps the past 2 years it still affects you to be out this long when you play his position in this system. But I certainly hope he can pick up where he left off, he sure has been a terror for most opposing defenses this year. :thumb:

I'd like to congratulate each and every Senior on these 2 teams tonight and thank them for giving all of us football fans something to look forward to on Friday nights. Here's to you, your families and all your past coaches all the way back to pee wee league, for putting in the time and effort to make you the players you are and for making football one of the best sports ever created! :thumb:

    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
    • Facts...until someone takes down the Rebels they should be the favorite. Got loads of young guys salivating at the opportunity to prove themselves and get a 3peat! Blazer how is Region 1 looking this year?
