Omniscience
Sequatchie Co. is off to the best season in school history, compiling a 24-2 overall record and with last Fridays win over Bledsoe, the Indians sweep district 7-AA. Led by Senior Daniel Cartwright's 20 ppg and 10 assist, the Indians have not lost since Thanksgiving. Their only losses have been to #1 McCallie and East Ridge who leads 6-AA. bravesfanatic
Any idea on where Daniel is going to be playing ball next year? The main word here is "TEAM" They are playing as a team and having fun doing it.They support each other when they are in a tight game, they keep ea. other in the game when things aren't going their way. When one person seems to be having an off night another person steps up including the bench.Their is a couple of kids on the team that could play ball on the next level any word on any of them?Indian is right its one game at a time! oldschoolhooper3
Excited to see if the Indians can make it to the boro. I love the uptempo style of play this year. Like I said in another topic, I would love to see the Dunlap/Sequatchie County community in the Murphy Center. If they continue to play well, I believe they can do it. Cartwright is still looking/waiting, certainly can and will play somewhere. Should be closing in on 2,000 points. Frederick could play baseball (pitcher) or basketball (6'6" post with shooting range). Smith will play NAIA football in Kentucky, would guess as a safety but he's athletic enough to play other spots depending on what the team wants. Holland is a great athlete and if the right situation comes up could play somewhere I believe. Hudson (jr) is getting heavy attention in baseball including from high level Division I teams. His future is baseball but he's added a ton to the basketball this year Sequatchie hosted Meigs tonight, won 71-59. Meigs didn't care about their own record or Sequatchie's, they came out and played hard, shot with confidence. The defensive intensity wasn't what it had been for Sequatchie, in the first half, 34-27 at the half. Seq built the lead to 16 by the end of the third then to around 20+ halfway through the fourth, Meigs came back to make it a 9-point game very late against mostly backups. Meigs shot the ball well and could pull an upset in their district. They gave Notre Dame a good game Monday. For Seq, Cartwright scored 29, 25 in the first three quarters, also had 7 assists. Hudson scored 18 with 12 rebounds. Smith and Frederick both rebounded well especially in the second half. Holland had a good all around game, 6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals (guard) and Tucker had 4 assists, forced numerous turnovers in the open court. Seq will see another team that likes to bomb away from outside Friday, Whitwell, they made 10 vs Van Buren Monday. 85warrior
Sequatchie wont advance very far. Out of 114 schools they have the 113 weakest schedule in the state. Good season for them but id be shocked if they made region finals. Edited February 23, 2012 by 85warrior
