District 9AAA Tournament Champions: 1982, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012

Tarp would not work as skipper has said.

Team 1 - Post 17 American Legion

 

Team 2 - 13u team

 

Team 3 - 14u team

 

Team 4 - college travel team

 

Team 5 - summer travel team

 

Team 6 - Gallatin High School

 

The American Legion team and the High School team could put on and remove the tarp with no problem.

If you have ever rolled a tarp out and rolled one up you should know that a team of 13 and 14 year olds can not do this. When most of the teams only carry 11- 13 players

I beg to differ.....13 - 14 years take tarps off of fields all the time.

I coached 13-14 yr. old players for 15 years, my last 2 travel teams, Merchants did tarp duty as needed. Sometimes with another team and with coaches and parents helping. You guys need to keep thinking of ways to get it done, instead of all the reasons you can't. And to have a better facility, it may require just a little more work and help from all the people that tell you it can't happen.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
