Is Springfield still going to be a spread team in 2012??????

yes it appears on the spread....very good size on the OL........farmer is bigger....i hear that the talented freshman wr, barbee, from last season quit.....wilson doesnt tolerate missing practice unless they have a note from the team trainer. few players run track not sure of any key players.

The scrimmage with Pearl-Cohn tomorrow should be a good test. The word has been that PC had their way with Smyrna last week.

Yes....pearl will be a nice test. I hope they represent well. Come fall farmer needs the ball in his hands 12 to 15 a game.....not including return game imo

Pearl runs the spread now. They are big and atheletic. Pearl was about 70-30 run in the scrimmage. They piled up a bunch of yards in second half of scrimmage. Shs hung in their with them first half. Jackets had trouble running on them.

I heard the same thing. I heard Springfield has very good receivers. I heard Pearl-Cohn looks very much like Oregon offensively in what they are trying to do.

Brandon farmer had about 3 catches for 150 yds......longest 85 yds. Had another that went 60 but was tackled at the 10 yd line. Fad in the corner to another reciever finished that drive. Pearl does have that oregon look. They ran the ball mostly. Half of their scores did come off passes especially in the second half. Pearl likes to go deep. Seems like shs defensive scheme is more agaisnt the run instead of the pass. Pearl is loaded and will be suprised if they miss the playoffs

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
