Troll,

to me Signal looks very young and nothing like last year. They have ALOT of work to do and in all honesty i see 2 or 3 more losses on the schedule(Tyner,Blackman, maybe SP). People didnt realize how much the Eagles lost year, and I think some of there fans didnt either. With all the youth the eagles should be fine for the next couple years.

It's also important to note we are on our 3rd DC in 3 years and our D clearly has a long way to go. Hopefully they will get there soon, if not you.could be right.

I knew what we lost, but I also know how much raw talent the young guys have. Just thought they were further along mentally. I think they were shell shocked after the three quick scores last week and were never able to recover. Hopefully that is out of their system and they are ready to HIT SOMEBODY. Last week I seen linemen pull and run down the line without even touching a defender. Seen linebackers and DB's pull up and breakdown for a tackle, rather than earholin' the guy. I seen six guys pass blocking three rushers, and one of the DL sacks the QB UNTOUCHED. That just won't cut it. If you aren't the aggressor, you're getting your arse whipped.

Tyner will be tough, but hopefully the guys can rebound from last week and HIT SOMEBODY. If my Eagles ain't ready to fight for a win, it will be another long night.

Seeing how Blackman played against Indy last week, we could be in for another beatdown Week 4. But by Week 5 when we roll into the Beene, we should be hitting full stride. So will the Pirates, though, so it could be another thriller.

Having 3 DC in 3 years, didn't help.....SM D played soft....they haven't had a strong D EVER.......they out score teams in 10,and we know what happen last year.....they got whip at the line, linebackers didn't fill the holes and the DB wouldn't come up and hit anyone......on O the line got push around and the backs ran soft........But they have a ton of talent and can make a run at another state title if they can put it all together..........so,don't forget about them......

I ain't gonna throw anybody under the bus, 'cause I got all the respect in the world for our coaches and players, but anybody who follows the Eagles and watched last weeks game would have to agree with Lancer. Only thing I would argue about is the running backs. I thought they ran hard and strong, just had no place to run.

To get back on topic, Tyner always has size, strength, speed, and athleticism. I was reading in Roy's book and that Prep Blitz about the Rams, and this year looks to be no different. This game will be a fight, but I watched the fellers practice yesterday, and I think they will be ready.

2 players made the Eagles team last year. That was Bowman and Mclendon. Both are gone. Signal is still a great team though.

Good luck to Signal friday. According to the article in the Chattanoogan Phillips and Turnage can win the game by themselves. I am all for promoting kids and getting publicity for their talents, but the timing of this article is about as bad as it gets.

Chattanoogan gave East Ham. no chance to beat Signal. Now they are not giving Tyner any chance. My point is Signal needs to buckle it up and play harder this friday than they did last friday. Stop reading how great you are and show how great you are on the field,or you will be 0-2

Heck I am SM fan and I agree. Times Free Press prints popular stuff, the sports guys need to go do some leg work before picking next week. Just my opinion.

You guys are forgetting my favorite of all time, how can you not mention Mitchell Hall #30. He came to work and did his part as much as anyone that has ever worn the black and red. We (I) miss seeing him as much as anyone!

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
