Wow. One of, if not the biggest games in east tennessee this week and nobody has commented in over a day? We had more posts than this for the Farragut OR game and they have about 2 posters on this whole board...Geeez, you buncha lugheads, wake up lol...On the serious side...Where do all of the OR fans sit at the home games that are on here? Heck, even some of the Powell fans. Where will yall sit? We should all meet up on the hill on the OR side. That would be fun, i think. I'll be sure to bring my boxing gloves in case one of the Powell fans gets smart hehehe just kidding...C'mon guys, lets get farred up for this game, it's turned into a pretty good east tn rivalry these past 4 years and may be the last one we have. Word around town is that the principal at OR is very much considering taking OR to 5A next year, which will more than likely put an end to this contest, and a new district for the Ridge. Best of luck Powell.,

Why would it mean a new district for Oak Ridge? Powell is a 5A team, and District 3AAA is a district for both 5A and 6A teams. Oak Ridge moving to 5A won't affect that.

I've been wondering where everyone's at! It's too quiet on here! I will be on the field getting some photos for a little while, then probably work my way over to the visitor stands....I am q former boxer, so the gloves would be fun. Lol! Seriously, I'd hate if we didn't play each other anymore. Do you think OR would be moved to a different district? If both teams were 5a they may still play each other? I get nervous anytime someone talks of these kind of changes.

Shows u how much people outside of OR really care about OR Foofball doesnt it? LOL. Every game to u guys that OR is in is THE biggest game in East Tn. Its just not that way any more. There are several games just in Knoxville that are bigger than OR/Powell.

None that mean a probable district championship for the winner. Name one with that meaning this wk? There may be, but this is a huge game for both teams and probably the biggest game in the district this year.

That's nothing new, SS. Not very many Powell followers on these boards. Heck, there wouldn't have been a game thread for the last 2 Powell games if I hadn't got them started up late each week. I like to think that the Powell faithful follows the Teddy Roosevelt philosophy - Speak softly, and carry a big stick.

That being said, I'm looking forward to a great game on Friday. If I had to call it right now, I think OR gets payback for Zullinger and wins by a TD.

I'm with HTV on this one. I don't have any inside info, but why in the world would TSSAA move OR from district 3 to district 5, if they drop down to 5A? The only way I could see something like that happening would be if TSSAA decided to revamp the classification system again; otherwise, I don't expect OR to leave district 3. And if that is the case, district 3 will look just like districts 1 & 2 (with just two 6A teams). The whole purpose of this "new" classification system was to reduce travel during the regular season, if my understanding is correct.

Guys it didn't make sense to me, either. I am just going by what i heard from someone who has been associated with OR football for 30 some odd years.

Well, i am sure they will be tough...Are those legit electronically timed 40's? You know their were just a handful, and i mean a few NFL players who ran in the 4.3's in the NFL combine? Not being smart, but a lot of times i have a hard time accepting the times some of the people on here throw out. Our RB Moore is a track specialist and placed in the top 10 in the state in the 100Meters and i would bet he runs near a 4.5 give or take...

Surprisingly Gardner is not the fastest guy on Powell's team. He is very fast, but does not run a 4.3. The fastest 40 time recorded this year at Powell that I heard from a very reliable source (one of the two coaches that timed the 40s) was the safety Jon Strozyk ran a 4.4 before the season started. Surprising since he is coming off an ACL injury, but nonetheless Gardner is fast. I would be shocked if Moore was a 4.5 40. I believe he also could stay in the 4.4s. It will be interesting if Strozyk and Moore get in a foot race just to see how fast this Moore kid is. I would never bet against a track star though lol.

    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
    • What coach in their right mind would want to come here and set theirself on fire to keep her warm.
    • Shoulder not going to the #### show .   Macon will name the score this year.
    • Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
