OR wins 21-3. Great effort by the defense and a much better 2nd half for the offensive. A very satisfying win over a quality Power team who should make some noise in the 5A playoffs.

It was a good game, to be sure. I'm glad I didn't realize Powell was undefeated in regular season play since 2009 before the game, but it makes the victory sweeter in hindsight.

 

The Powell kids looked huge, are fast, and were certainly a tough match.

The upside is this Powell team is young and can take this loss and learn from it. Powell does have some big kids, but most are young. Rian Hall was the difference maker, in my opinion. A great game and win for OR.

As well as Hall played, Elliot Normand was the difference maker on both sides of the ball. Powell couldn't stop him or block him.

 

Great win for Oak Ridge. For Powell, they need to forget this one and concentrate on AC next week.

Congratulations to Oak Ridge. Their defensive line took control after the half, and their offensive line began dominating a tiring Powell defense late. It was a well-played, hard-fought game. Best of luck to a very good OR team for the rest of the season. Next week's Powell / AC game will be interesting.
