I hope the kid is ok and wish him a bright future...but you cant just throw a flag and say that was too rough! It was a legal tackle...no horse coller, no face mask, etc. It was just a big strong kid grabbing a much smaller kid and throwing him backwards. Again, I hope he is ok and wish him and his team the best of luck!

You actually can say it was too rough. That's why there is a flag for unecessary roughness.

I agree. I don't think the kid should be taken out and flogged, but it was unnecessary and I think it deserved a flag. I just hope Edmonds is okay for Kingston. He's a tough kid and is going to be a good player.

So all this time i have been teaching my son to play hard and give 100% he is suppose to take it easy because some kid is 130 pounds. The kid had momentum and my son grabbed him and done what he had been taught get him to the ground at whatever cost at no point in time was he looking to hurt the kid. No if the kid had landed on his feet and kept running and scored nothing would have been said except that the freshman should have been on sports center. With that being said he is my son and i am very proud of him and expect him to do give all he has for his football team. Also what is classless is that a parent came over to our sideline and was yelling and curssing at him.

He is a heck of a player, and I don't think he's a dirty player. I do think there should have been a flag because once he had his feet off the ground he could have just taken him down instead of flipping him over head first. But that's just my opinion. I also think it's classless that someone from Kingston came over and cursed at him. That's the person that needs to be flogged.

Maybe the parent should have been on his own sideline yelling at his coach or his son's linemen for leaving a beast like #57 unblocked. I would never, ever want to see a young man injured, but don't know how you could fault #57 for physical play. It is football, players are taught (as they should be) to try to break the will of the opponent by being more physical than they are. He was just doing his job.

    • Worst thing SC could do is get rid of Dyer. I agree with everything said above.
    • Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war.We had some quality wins this summer. Beat Huntingdon, Henry County, Bowling Green, Liitle Rock Central as well as a couple other quality Kentucky Teams. Westview's talent pool may not be what it has been without transfers the next few.
    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
