District 14 A

Local paper said TSSAA was investigating a player and also was questioning his parents established residency in Trenton. So If he wasnt legal in Trenton, would think Trenton would have to forfeit their one win. That would propel Bradford to the 4th spot if they were to get a win over Trenton.Lake Co would drop to 7th if they have to forfeit both games. So if there are any forfeits involved, could have South Fulton playing at Bradford unless LC beats Bradford tomorrow night.Halls would play Humboldt ,Laqke Co would play Greenfield and Trenton would play Union City.Looks that way now if there are forfeits coming.School was expecting a decision late yesterday afternoon so would think things are known by now.

Ok thanks.GF has to play at UC tomorrow night and that will be there last district game, while Humboldt still has Bradford, Trenton, and Halls left to play.Humboldt probably want to finish 3rd and avoid LC who had to forfeit 2 district games today.LC will more than likely finish 7th.

I also thought in the scenario was his actual living arrangements in Trenton.Did he actually live with his parents in Trenton after leaving Dyer Co.Was told that was what they were looking at to see if he moved to Trenton and then moved to LC.So did Trenton not have to forfeit their only win against Bradford and also some football wins.If not,the TSSAA must have been satisfied that he did move in with parents in Trenton but didnt move in with the proper people at LC.Just wondering what the TSSAA determined.

Bigster, entire story will come out in the wash but you can go to www.nwtntoday.com and read about it under messenger sports. Honestly don't believe the entire issue should be discussed here in a message board but briefly Trenton and LC took ALL the proper steps based on the information provided to them when they enrolled the student in their respective schools. TSSAA told each school as much. problem is later it was discovered that some misinformation had been provided to BOTH schools and and after investigating the situation each school self-reported. There was no recruiting or intent to break the rules by either school just ended up being an unfortunate situation. Time to move on and focus on Bradford Friday.

LC had to forfeit their wins to Halls and Trenton while Trenton had to forfeit their only win to Bradford. So now LC has 3 wins and Trenton has 1 from LC forfeiting to them.

Thanks Chipper. That tells me he didnt make a legimate move to Trenton from Dyer Co and was ineligible and even if he moved with his mother to Lc would still be ineligible.Thinking he may have played football at Trenton also but dont know.Would think if he did, would be forfeits there also. But bad thing is ,he could have came back to LC before school and sat a year and played his senior year in all sports or had he waited until after the Christmas break and enrolled at Lake Co like I'm thinking he did, could have sat one full year and played his senior basketball senior at LC but not football. Now would think he's going to be ineligible his whole senior year unless he will be allowed to sit one full calender year and maybe play the last 4 or 5 games in the regular senior season and then get to play in the playoffs.More than likely,I believe the TSSAA is going to rule him out now though but not sure.Really think the schools at Trenton and LC were in the dark.By that probaly turned in papers to Trenton and LC that he had moved. They sent all the papers they had and TSSAA probaly cleared him at both schools. Then more info came in and deteminned to not be as everyone thought and since he did play those games, has to forfeit.Kinda like the Derrick Rose situation at Memphis. Was cleared by the NCAA but Memphis was still penalized of all their wins.Better now that during the tournaments.Going to be a tougher road but also a little tougher for maybe a school expecting a easier first round loser go home game.

It looks as if it's going to be LC against Humboldt or Greenfield in the first round of the district tournament should be a great opening round!!!

Yes it's a shame though.Still a pretty good team is going to be home after one game which maybe all 4 could have won and advanced to the regional.Just read the whole story in the Jackson Sun as to what happened.Didnt play but two games with Trenton for a total of 4 minutes.Never made a move.So I'm guessing he drove from Ridgely to Trenton during those few days.But.it's over with.Time to suit it up.see how things shake out and just play ball.
