Why would a 9-1 Lexington team who is list as the #9 team on the TSSAA site get a number 1 seed in quad 3, when they are in quad 4 district. Pushing a 10-0 quad 3 school Giles into quad 2. Giles pushing a 9-1 East Hamilton a quad 2 school into the 2nd seed in quad 2 they have the same record as Lexington and East Hamilton is the #5 school listed on TSSAA site. Mitchell is the #4 school listed and they just lost there 2nd game. Looks to me Like to me the 4 #1 seeds in the quads should be: Quad 1 Dekalb, Quad 2 East Hamilton, Quad 3 Giles, Quad 4 Covington. Thus you have 3 #1 seeds in there own quads with Dekalb a quad 2 team going to quad 1. I am I missing something, or dose the order of the teams listed on TSSAA site mean nothing at all.

The list on the TSSAA site helps determine the 32 teams that qualify. Teams are seeded after the 32 teams are split up into 4 quads based on geography. This has been the system in place for four years now. They do not place teams in specfific quads based on records because then it becomes very subjective.

Remember your team has the right to prove me wrong. This year it looks like the last team in will be Red Bank barely beating out Hillcrest out of Memphis. Have fun and remember if you have any questions or spot a mistake don't hesitate to ask or point it out.

GB,

I was looking at Quad 1 and I have a question. If Grainger beats Cumberland Gap and G-P beats Pigeon Forge, would that make Grainger the 5 seed, Carter the 6 seed, Gibbs the 7 seed, and Claiborne the 8 seed?

You are correct if you are assuming Gibbs will also lose to Austin East. If Gibbs wins they would be the 6, Carter the 7.

Thanks Gerry, I think I am getting this, key word is think. Looks like if they just would go to 5 classifications it would be a whole lot easier. But then you lose revenue.

No problem. Here is a point to ponder with the 5 vs 6 class system.

Under the 5 class system there was 155 playoff games, under the new 6 class system there are 170 games played. Let's just say each playoff game brings in $5,000 in revenue for the TSSAA that means they are losing $75,000. Now I can argue if you go back to 5 classes, the gates will be bigger for those 155 games making up for the loss of revenue.

GB...is Page the 3 seed in quad 3 because they have more wins over .500 teams than liberty does...or something along those lines
