bigdaddy...when i say u...i just mean the east as a whole...not u personally...want to make that clear...

 

also most of this was brought on by DeKalb stating over and over how they are a top team and complaining about quad 2...

 

as far as i can tell...giles co is the only team in 4a that should be considered the frontrunner...everyone else is an afterthought this season and needs to prove something...even covington

 

yes even the greendevils...those losses took some of the mystique away...ur team is solid and talented...but giles is showin out this year...much like ur team has the last 2 years

I don't believe too many teams in 4A are willing to hand over the gold to Giles Co. just yet. When the playoffs are over and if they've won, then by all means, proclaim them the greatest. Until that time, there are more than one or two teams that have a legitimate chance of winning it all. I'm not convinced that Giles could make it to the finals if they were in quad 1.

From what I saw DeKalb fans said it would be a hard road and an interesting one at that, but I didn't see complaining. I know I said I would enjoy seeing the matchups against some tough teams. I saw just as many Giles and East Hamilton posters saying how quad 2 was stacked, so jumping all over DeKalb makes no sense to me.

Don't know what else Covington could show. They have beaten every team in from of them convincingly, regardless of class. I can guarantee you that Covington is not going to hand Giles Co the gold ball and neither will any other team.

what would it matter if they were in quad 1 or not...if they win quad 2...they will play the best team from quad 1...so whats ur point here...

 

i never said anyone should hand over the gold or anything like that...i said...THE ONLY TEAM THAT DESERVES TO BE REGARDED AS A TOP TEAM...IS GILES COUNTY...top team is 1 team...everyone else is just a bit off from the game they are putting on the field right now...i have no doubt that teams will compete...or at least i hope they do...5 or 6 teams acting like theyre a top team because they lost 1 game or went undefeated in the regular season with no postseason history to draw from in recent memory...give me a break

 

if giles were in the west what would u guys be sayin...east ham takes it all??? if giles were in quad 3 they would still be favored to win it all...

      I see them and Oakdale struggling quite a bit the next few years. I see OS to be the powerhouse of the area for awhile. It all depends on how much Coalfield can recruit.

      I’ve said it all year coalfield isn’t the same team as the last couple years. They have 3 really good players and another pitcher that throws low to mid 80s. Other than that, everybody else is average at best. You could make the argument that their lineup was the worst out of the 4 teams in their region tournament. Oakdale is really hot right now and playing well. Greenback was the second best team there. Wartburg was hitting it well but limped into the tournament with their center fielder being hurt and their best pitcher not being able to go on the mound for them was killer.

      Upperman White County both will be loaded. Dyersbirg and South Side will be a handful as well. Getting about that time in about 3 weeks we start watching summer scrimmages. Dyersburg loaded loaded loaded with talent. Most talent ever I have seen in their program.
