Really if you score 56 points in the first half should the starters even be out there in the second half??

I guess it just depends. I believe the starters played the first series of the third quarter and that was it, but I can't be positive.

The point Old Pirate was making is......sometimes a youngun plays on a team that is better than most they play, given those players want to play and have earned....the right to play and generally don't want to sit out and sitting out half their games in the majority of their senior year is not fair to them.... SP starts 4 seniors on offense and the rest are 1st year starters that need the game experience and the Pirates started 2 freshman, 2 sophmores on defense last Friday. So you fellers that don't want to be scored on so much, simply work on getting better. You Tenn Vols fans should know all too well about folkes scoring alot on your team....

BTW, hopefully the tssaa will do something about this mess soon and give credit for strength of schedule and jest recently has SP playing up really hurt them! Unfortunately in 1A ball you can't play down like Jasper and some others do in 2A. The Pirates only play 2 1A teams and the rest are bigger while Jasper and others play 3-4 smaller programs.....who has the advantage? When the playoff system was originally set up it went by points, 10 points for a win within your classification and less if you played below your classification. Obviously this playoff situation is a mess and needs corrected.

I think not many teams around here want to tangle with that beast. Calhoun consistantly puts out D1 talent every year. Probably wouldn't be a fun matchup.......

 

And again, they have over 240 more students than SP.

As I said before if he were that good his point would already have been proven , College's would already have heard about him and furthermore he probably would have singed a letter of content so therefore he has nothing else to prove but he could get injured or worse a broken leg or who know's what else.
